No vin stickers on inner fenders and emissions sticker is missing under hood.

Nice catch. I'll inquire.

Apparently only the US and Canadian markets got those VIN decals. A Euro carproof type thing shows no claims. Arm rest and shift boot are non-OEM.

Anyone got $30K they can lend me?

twitchyzero 08-01-2017 08:59 AM

yes I had a feeling those VIN were NA exclusive...weird despite them coming out of the same factory...different requirements i guess

yes let us help you get your 3rd? ITR :derp:

white rocket 08-01-2017 11:05 AM

^^haha! time for a go-fund-me.

Interesting to see the blue VIN tag and it positioned above the battery on the firewall instead of the rad support like the JDM ones. No VIN on trans either.

I feel like such a nerd with my obsession with these cars. I mean they're not even that fast really yet I can't see myself in anything else (except an E30 M3 which is also notoriously slow)

Iron Chef 08-01-2017 08:33 PM

There are definitely worst cars to nerd out over

1997MY did not have the in-cabin trunk release. That option began in 1998.

twitchyzero 08-06-2017 03:12 PM

splitting hairs, but does the factory windshield have any marking that can be identified?

thumper 08-06-2017 03:17 PM

dosen't it normally have a honda identification in one corner?

tegra7 08-06-2017 03:32 PM

Who cares, It's a fucking piece of glass that will eventually break.

Spectre_Cdn 08-06-2017 04:53 PM

But Type-R's have the thinner windshields for weight reduction, yo.

Unless there are aftermarket replacement R windshields, otherwise it sounds pretty exclusive.

Same as 97+ Prelude is what I've heard, but the mounts are different.
