Did not know there was a level three fast charge station at Queen’s Park in New West. Two separate FLO chargers. Free charging, but need FLO card. It’s located by the skate park and across the baseball stadium. At least it looks like one. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been here. Watch lacrosse and music festivals some 40 years ago. 50kWh stations. Good enough for my little EV.

Anyone here with experience on the process to get Strata and the Property Manager to approve level 1or 2 charging in the common property parking lot?

Looking for tips and bylaw examples to help guide them through the process.

doesn't it get brought up at say an AGM and voted on?

I know my friend's condo had a great promo deal offered a while back, super cheap, and it kept getting voted down by people that don't have EV's and didn't want it. They weren't convinced it would add value to their condo

Forbidden fruit, but a car like this would definitely suit Vancouver.

Anyone here a strata lawyer, insurance broker or PM here?

Question: Does amending the bylaw to allow for level 1 charging in the residential parkade (limited common property) affect the strata insurance liability?

Wouldn't it be the easiest for you to obtain a copy of the strata insurance policy, and contact the insurance broker to find out?

As a resident in the strata property, I'm sure you're entitled to obtain the terms of the insurance policy through the strata (although you may have to pay a small doc fee).

MotorTrend revealed that Honda filed the CR-Z trademark on July 29 in the US.

Might not mean anything, but it does mean that there's a chance it's returning, which is exciting considering the advancements in hybrid/electric technology over the last few years. If Honda can stick 160/170hp combined power in a stiff modern chassis, still the same 2-seater hatchback formula with a 6spd, this will be so much fun.

Threads been dead for a while, so here's something new........

So weird to hear............. nothing except tires and that sweet whine sound.

Still, only 7.52 seconds at the 1320 mark.

My buddy who's at the track all the time (lives there) does 6 second runs the old fashioned way. Can't beat the smell and sounds, I tell ya.

SO, you Toyota Camry guys, check out this link...........

Spoiler!

Battery Day was today? Million mile battery.

I hope it lives up to the hype.

I'm so looking forward to the Cybertruck. Two year wait. Pyramid on wheels, lol.

Not much talk about charging stations anymore........

Coquitlam just upgraded theirs to a dual FLO fast chargers and so did the Grandview and Rupert location. My favourite is still the Homer Street fast chargers. Metrotown chargers are now pay stations. Funny thing is, place is now empty at times. I hit the Queen's Park fast chargers every now and then (also two stations). There's a pair of level two chargers a block or so away at the Rose Garden in Queen's Park. There's a pair of Clipper Creek level 2 chargers on Third (same street the fast chargers are at) on Sixth. Can't remember street or avenue. Anyway, lots of chargers to choose from nowadays.

I have two of their plug in chargers. One for home and one for work, when I worked. They are one of the best one's to get. I got the 16A ones. Don't need the high power ones.

Made in the US of A and rock solid.

Their above sale prices are for US customers only, but still their regular prices are very affordable. When the borders were still open, I would have it shipped to Blaine and bring it across with no duties. I ask them to send the declaration papers and they did it without hesitation. Lots of Canadian customers order from them. At first they will tell you to purchase their chargers through Sun Country here in Canada, because the chargers are made by them, but their prices are like in the 800 to 1000 bucks range. No thanks. Shipping and exchange doesn't come close to making up the difference. Anyway, shipping via courier with all fees included is best way, I assume.

There's nothing like having a charger at home. I charge for free at the public charging stations most of the time, but when you really need it, it comes in hella handy. Plus, there will come a time when all public chargers will be pay stations.

Yeah, most people need to understand this. I've been riding my motorcycle to work since the weather has been nice. Using home 120V to charge my car, hence why you haven't seen me around.

In a week or so when we get constant rain, I might be hanging out at the chargers again.

There is definite a lot more lvl 2 chargers around which is nice.

I heard about the recall of Chevy Bolts not that long ago. I met a few Bolt owners today at the charging stations. They told me it's not just Bolts.

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a3...ecall-battery/

Hyundai uses Samsung batteries. They mentioned some Tesla's were recalled. I can't believe that one. Any truth?

Found Hyundai recall.........

For the time being, it's 5 vehicles out of 50k+ Bolts, so it is 0.01% chance of the car bursting into fires. If I were a Bolt owner, of course, I'd keep my eyes open, but I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

I know some Tesla's, before they built their own factories, were using Panasonic batteries.

There's been enough Tesla S's bursting into flames that it's possible.

I just had this thought, for the guys with phev or full ev. What does your service intervals look like? I'm trying to figure out the upkeep cost. Like do you still have to change the oil every 5000km since technically you could be all electric if the motor doesn't kick in.

You don't even have to change the oil every 5k on conventional engines these days. Most are like 2x-4x that.

For what it's worth, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is rated at 7500 mile (12000 km) interval.

My Tesla hasn't reached the service required mileage, so far I have heard people bringing their Tesla back to the service center to fix things way more than going back to maintain.

Items like wipers, wiper fluid, 12v battery, brakes (every 80k km), tires, battery fluid (if there is leaking going on), A/C refill.

A friend drives a Hyundai Ioniq and it requires similar service, but Hyundai ask for $900 every year going back to continue the warranty, quite stupid.

Is that Hyundai or the Hyundai dealer? I noticed quite a few dealers have service schedules that didn't match the manufacturer's while car shopping over the past few years.

Hyundai dealers are garbage, I remember a couple years ago a friend of mine had a Santa Fe, they had a recall on the front valve cover with the V6 for leaking oil that they would cover as part of the recall, but of course the rear valve cover also freaking leaks because it's the same problem on both valve covers... they wanted $1,900.00 to change it. We got it done at a shop down the street we didn't even know for $400.00.

I know dealerships charge more, but they're such a bunch of crooks. Kamloops Hyundai is the same deal with cars I have at work as part of my fleet, crazy ripoff prices for everything.
