A 110V slow plug at 12a can get you 20-30km every night minimum, double that if you get a 220 dryer plug installed. If they go to a Vancouver community center for activities, they have 6kwh plugs cheap as well.
It still falls back down to do they have a garage? Too many ppl just fill their garage with junk and can't really charge. Also if they are older how long do they expect to stay in a house with garage and not move to a condo for safer/easier access than stairs?
It would suck if they buy an EV because they can charge at home but then need to sell it after 2 years because they moved to a condo due to stairs.

No worries if they are hoarders and garage is all full, just be ghetto,. I see some people in older neighbourhoods, run an 100m extension cord to the front of their house to charge on 110V!

Isn't that half as fast as Tesla, I think model 3 on 110 is about 8 km an hour when it's cold like maybe 10 km if it's warm, so you would at least get 80 km a night for 10 hours of charging.

agreed, if you're in the city it's not bad for buying groceries, doing errands, while still having lots of cargo room.

If they were any more tech savvy, they should just get a Mach E.
U know it's a good car when 5 years later, I'm still saying they're better than current stuff like Ioniq.
- Massive incentives if new, super cheap used
- Super easy to road trip (Android Auto/Carplay support EV charging route planning)
- You can drive it in winter (preconditioning, heat pump, fast charging)
- Bigger battery https://vancouver.craigslist.org/rds...907869759.html
First result, 27k for extended battery AWD.
- Bluecruise Handsfree driving works great for Seattle <> Vancouver
- GT PP steering/magneride suspension reminds me of Honda Hot Hatch ... 35k: https://vancouver.craigslist.org/rds...905043502.html

PHEVs seem pretty ideal for most people (especially older folks), for practical reasons: all the "free gas" without any of the anxiety.
EREVs are even better, for the refinement and power of an EV drivetrain. I hope this approach picks up steam.

Hello Toyota Crown! | if you're talking about the bz4x/solterra, it's 2nd gen, aesthetically looks way better, and they corrected a lot of the gripes from users of the previous generation. not saying it's worth the $, but it's not the same thing. Quote:

Do I need to start putting everything in 30-point font, or are you going to see your optometrist, Dukes???

For the wife's Q4, that works out about 5km per hour right now.

Used could also mean a 2026 model year driven for 2000KM and sold as certified pre-owned.
Re: Optometrist - Good idea. I'm due for an exam in a few months. I'll follow up on whether she still looks 26 but is really 65 with four grandkids. Quote:

How has PHEV held up? I thought people have been saying they're double the trouble, constant wear at cold starts when you floor it, also do you still do annual oil changes and other ice services

The battery has gotten weaker but BMW has 8 years warranty on the battery. I would hesitate to get any lithium PHEV that's more than 8-10 years old as there may not be enough range left for it to make any sense.
