If, indeed Lazar is coming back in return, that marks a departure from what the Sens have been saying all along as not wanting to deal him.

Goodbye Burr, we'll miss you...

Nabatron 02-27-2017 12:31 PM

not sure why its taking forever for it to come out what we got for burrows but imagine it is for "future considerations" lol

Jonathan Dahlen - The Next Ones: 2016 NHL Draft Prospect Profile

6o4__boi 02-27-2017 12:37 PM

an almost PPG player in the Swedish 2nd tier

not a bad deal...still needs to get him signed and playing for Comets sooner rather than later though

Not really racist! 02-27-2017 12:43 PM

das it mane

6o4__boi 02-27-2017 12:44 PM

@ not really racist

your avatar was my face when i found out Benning didn't include a draft pick in this trade

cdizzle_996 02-27-2017 12:52 PM

Finally a smart move.

Young prospect and cap space!

Liquid_o2 02-27-2017 12:53 PM

So long Burr, it was a good ride :QQ:

Reading up on Dahlén, can't fault Benning on this one. Strong pickup for a guy the Canucks were thinking of buying out last summer. We need young offensive talent and this kid has lots of upside. Hopefully the Canucks don't ruin him.

highfive 02-27-2017 12:56 PM

Lol man sens fans are pissed hahaha

6o4__boi 02-27-2017 12:57 PM

i'm liking the Erat for Forsberg comparison

but I know this is the Canucks...so we'll have to wait and see with this kid.

EvoFire 02-27-2017 12:57 PM

Good bye Burr!

It's been a good come back story this year. There goes our more successful Horvat Baer Burr line.

Liquid_o2 02-27-2017 12:58 PM

Also wanted to mention that Dahlén had a very strong WJC just a few months ago. Scored a hat-track against the Czechs

Nabatron 02-27-2017 01:01 PM

if that shithead willie is still here then game over for young guys haha

Mike Oxbig 02-27-2017 01:01 PM

Eliteprospects.com - Jonathan Dahlén

Quote:

An offensively very skilled player. Dahlén is a good scorer and playmaker and quite shifty with fine technical skills and overall offensive awareness. Furthermore, an agile and creative player with great character. Skating might look suspicious at times, in some ways quite comparable to father Ulf's, but he reaches good speed and and has impressive edge work. Good work ethic and a capable two-way player. - See more at: Eliteprospects.com - Jonathan Dahlén

great move for some young talent, Sucks Burrows is gone but at least he wasn't bought out and we actually got something for him.

Nabatron 02-27-2017 01:07 PM

maximizing on depreciating players is what a GM is suppose to do good thing benning has learned somewhat from last years trade debacle...

projected as a 2nd/3rd line lwer. great shot, great hockey iq. might have upside to play a bit higher

cdizzle_996 02-27-2017 01:16 PM

Still waiting for the notification to roll in that Van also added a 2017 and 2018 first rounders...

spideyv2 02-27-2017 01:20 PM

lol @ Benning actually winning a trade

slicrick 02-27-2017 01:28 PM

The Benn brothers are split up now

Benning gets a lot of criticism, some of which is probably deserved. Have to give credit where credit is due though with him acquiring a recent 2nd round pick who appears to be on the right track for a recent buyout candidate even if Burrows is having a bounce back year.

Hopefully all of the Swedes on the Canucks should ease the difficulty in the transition from Sweden to North America when the time comes.
