Iggy went for conditional pick? man...somehow Burrows got us a second round pick prospect. lol

SumAznGuy 03-01-2017 09:25 AM

Has anyone heard anything about Boeser?
At the rink yesterday, someone mentioned BB's ND team isn't doing so well and that there are rumors he may quit college after this season and turn pro.

murd0c 03-01-2017 09:35 AM

it's already been said the Canucks are going to sign him after this season and he's going to turn pro. There is still a small chance of him playing a couple games for the big club this season if ND doesn't make the playoffs and dimjim can get the deal signed.

While the Burrows return was higher than expected, his play is far superior to Iginla this year. It shouldn't be a surprise that Burrows fetched more than Iggy at the deadline.

To add to this- the last time 1040 had the UND coach, he seemed resigned to the thought of not having Boeser for next year. Reading between the lines seemed to indicate that they're preparing for next season assuming Boeser is going to Vancouver/Utica. That said, it it probably standard protocol to always assuming your star player as a college coach always has a foot out the door.

dassit?

Any more update on that rumored college kid that may walk away from Vancouver?
I believe it was Gaudette?

Stafford for conditional 6 lol

pastarocket 03-01-2017 11:36 AM

Good trades by Benning. Dim Jim is not so dim after all. LUL

murd0c 03-01-2017 11:44 AM

who thought Dim Jim would make some of the best deadline deals in the league.

winson604 03-01-2017 11:45 AM

Only 4 guys left on the current roster from the 2011 Cup Final roster we had, Sedins, Tanev, and Edler.

I'm happy with what we accomplished at the trade deadline and I happy to see the potential future of our team going forward. There's still a ton we need to do before we get good again but I can finally sense it's coming. Realistically for me another 3 years at least before we're decent enough again but it's ok because win or lose I'll be a Canucks fan for life.

Expresso 03-01-2017 11:54 AM

Except most "Canucks fans for life" won't go to games during the transition.

With the crazy prices they charge I'm not surprised.

Expresso 03-01-2017 12:23 PM

Is anyone else surprised the Leafs actually got a return for Corrado?

Looks so wrong. Reminds me of seeing Linden in Montreal or Islander colours :(

One contract off the books at the end of the season, one expansion draft eligible forward off the books after next season, and a 4th. Not bad for a free wallet.

The product is just so unwatchable though and even though prices have come down a lot for noise bleeds it's still fairy pricey. I don't mind paying and watching even if we lose but the product still has to be good. Who says we can't be exciting but suck?

crazy prices? a family of 4 can go to a game for under $100 these days.

the people who were crying about it being affordable when the team was good just have lost interest.

pastarocket 03-01-2017 01:58 PM

When I look at the Washington trade to acquire Shattenkirk, you can clearly see that the team GM is "all in" this season to try to get this team to win a Cup.

I don't know about these rental players. Yeah, Shattenkirk will help the team to be even more lethal on the powerplay as their PP QB. When it comes to the playoffs though, I still don't think that the Capitals will get out of the Eastern conference.

Pittsburgh is still my pick to go the Stanley Cup finals.

I don't know, coming from the Burbs east of the Fraser what's the skytrain? $5.50 each way per adult and $3.75 per kid, maybe cheaper on way back? If you drive $6.30 in tolls, $10 in fuel and another $20-25 for parking. Even if you don't drink alcohol add another $40-60 for food and drinks.

It's expensive lol, even when I take my kid and wife to the football game with free tickets it ends up costing me at least $100.00.

6o4__boi 03-01-2017 02:27 PM

are there still scalpers outside of Rogers Arena these days?

lol what are those ticket prices going for?

the tickets maybe a lot cheaper then they have been but with everything else added into it most family's would rather stay home.
