I guess this can go here

https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/tiktok-fcc-1.6505269

FCC looking to ban tiktok as US user data has been accessed multiple times by "entities in China"

Tiktok has come out n said it will delete all US user data, in hopes that will suffice, until they can store us user data elsewhere

320icar 06-30-2022 08:59 AM

100% tiktok is being phised by the Chinese gov

68style 06-30-2022 09:23 AM

I dunno why anyone using TikTok wouldn’t already realize China is capturing all their data

It's been known since it started, people just don't care because the average person is too stupid to understand something that doesn't have immediate and directly visible consequences.

Just look at the target audience for TikTok…

The SCOTUS just ruled that the EPA doesn't have the authority to limit carbon emissions from energy producers, effectively throwing into argument the regulatory powers of any government agency.

We live in wild times.

320icar 07-01-2022 03:13 PM

Link?? That sounds insane

SCOTUS not even trying to hide it anymore.

They've also agreed to hear this case:
https://www.nytimes.com/2022/06/30/u...eme-court.html

tl;dr
Quote:

The Supreme Court announced on Thursday that it would hear a case that could radically reshape how federal elections are conducted by giving state legislatures independent power, not subject to review by state courts, to set election rules in conflict with state constitutions.

The case has the potential to affect many aspects of the 2024 election, including by giving the justices power to influence the presidential race if disputes arise over how state courts interpret state election laws.

In taking up the case, the court could upend nearly every facet of the American electoral process, allowing state legislatures to set new rules, regulations and districts on federal elections with few checks against overreach, and potentially create a chaotic system with differing rules and voting eligibility for presidential elections.
Literally a shithole country.

68style 07-02-2022 08:23 AM

The voting thing is huge, way bigger than Roe v. Wade. Republicans almost always lose the popular vote every election, so they depend entirely on the electoral college or not being absolutely horrible to win… this will further cement the inability of Democrats to beat them in any swing states regardless how bad things get.

Gay marriage and representational hiring will be next! That last one gonna be a weird one for Clarence Thomas to write his ruling on.

Manic! 07-02-2022 08:25 AM

They also want to ban birth control including condoms.

westopher 07-02-2022 08:28 AM

This is so fuckin embarrassing for the democrats. What’s the point in being in power if you still let republicans run the country?

I truly think there is a darker and more unspoken reason to this.

westopher 07-02-2022 11:03 AM

There’s definitely been an “adjustment” to American democracy.
1990s America would invade 2022 America if they saw this shit.

Last week a story came out about a 10 year old girl having to leave Ohio to get an abortion because it's banned in the state. Biden and many others talked about it. Cons claimed the story was B.S. Today the Wall Street Journal had this headline in an opinion piece written by the editorial board.

Quote:

An Abortion Story Too Good to Confirm
Biden told a tale of a 10-year old rape victim that no one can identify.
Fox news had the Ohio attorney general on claiming that there where no reports from the decentralized law enforcement system in Ohio.

Then Jeese watters on fox news did another 10 minute segment on it yesterday.

A few hours after the WSJ story this comes out.

Arrest made in rape of Ohio girl that led to Indiana abortion drawing international attention
Fox news is now blaming it in an illegal immigrant.

Are you talking about the rapist or the 10 year old who went out of state to commit murder?

Trump 2024? is he really going to run and i'm afraid his chances will be very good to win it - he's going to really harp on the current state of the economy and blame Sleepy Joe. His illiterate fan base will eat it up for breakfast lunch and dinner.

MG1 07-19-2022 05:13 PM

Amurica deserves Trump. It's just sad the result will fuck up the rest of the world.

Manic! 07-19-2022 08:40 PM

Well Joe Rogan is supporting ron desantis. He has been bashing trump the last few weeks. Called him a man baby on drugs.

https://www.businessinsider.com/joe-...n-drugs-2022-7

Quote:

Top podcaster Joe Rogan escalated his feud with former President Donald Trump, calling him "an existential threat to democracy" and a "man-baby" on drugs in a recent episode of the "Joe Rogan Experience."

Rogan, one of the most influential podcast hosts in the US, recently said that he would never have Trump on his show. "I don't want to help him," he said. "I'm not interested in helping him."

Rogan has also praised Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a possible 2024 Republican presidential contender and Trump rival.
