I actually don't really, but you need a supply and demand lesson if you don't see how it affects everything on the shelves when 40 million people still need to buy shit and there's less of it.

Got a new gig lately that is looking promising, I'd like to get my kid and I new bicycles this summer, not sure which Canadian company I should be looking at.
Meanwhile if I get a bike online from China I bet it will be 10 times cheaper and better looking!

A meeting between US and Chinese government officials in Switzerland to talk about de-escalation of their trade war.
US President Donald Trump’s top trade officials will meet with their Chinese counterparts this week to discuss a de-escalation of their increasingly ugly and damaging trade war. The future of the global economy is riding on their success.
The trade talks, the first in-person meeting between Chinese and American officials since the tit-for-tat tariff escalation kicked off in earnest in March, are unlikely to result in a trade deal, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Tuesday. But tariffs have reached such a high level that trade between the two countries has dropped off dramatically. Any thaw in the trade war could be a welcome sign for businesses and consumers in both countries and around the globe.
“The main objective of this meeting is to establish the conditions for a deal to be reached, including by defining what is feasible to be agreed upon and what isn’t,” said Alfredo Montufar-Helu, head of the Conference Board’s China Center. “There might be some quick wins, like a temporal pause of tariffs, which would bring much needed relief to businesses from both countries.”
Bessent and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer will both travel to Geneva, Switzerland, where they will meet the Chinese officials, authorities announced Tuesday.
In an interview with Fox News, Bessent Tuesday said the talks represent a first step, but he tried to downplay expectations for a deal.
“My sense is that this will be about de-escalation, not about the big trade deal … but we’ve got to de-escalate before we can move forward,” Bessent said.

We have a Spawn for my older one. We tried many different bikes and that was the one that worked the best, but it's hella expensive.
Bike regulations are super backwards in the states. Law requires that they have a coaster brake which I learned is a hindrance for kids learning to ride young.

I bought a Forth bike for my oldest a couple years ago, my youngest is using it now and it's a great bike. If you follow their social media accounts they do giveaways and discount codes pretty regularly.

You guys realize most bikes are made in Taiwan, right? Very few are actually made in Canada, and you are talking big bucks. Most of the components on these bikes are from Malaysia or Taiwan. I'm confident little to no component on them are Canadian.
I'm not trying to dissuade you guys from buying from these local brands, but rather inform you as to not to fall for the "Canadian" thing. Any local shop will serve a similar purpose. Also, fuck Alberta. Bunch of assholes.

| Trump thread 2.0
Trump received a 747-8 passenger jet from the Qatar government haha.
He posted on Truth Social that the jet is a “GIFT, FREE OF CHARGE”.
Talk about a $400 million US bribe from the Qatar government for Cheeto.
U.S. government will be dismantling the jet piece by piece to make sure that there is no surveillance equipment inside the plane. https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-ne...053b5zdmjgwg0n

The craziest part of that whole thing is taking it into his "presidential library" so it's basically HIS jet after he's done to fly whenever he wants.
Of course his AG Bondi said it's legal, she only gets paid on the side by the Saudis as well.
This version of the world is so absurd.

I mean Qatar hates human rights so there's no reason for them to hurt trump. They love his bullshit.

This version of the world is so absurd. | Lol the CNN article says: Quote:
Trump said the plane will “go directly” to his presidential library after he leaves office. “I wouldn’t be using it,” he added.

If I were anyone in Taiwan, I would totally be simultaneously pissed as well as pissing my pants now about the implications of that. This Orange POS has already shown how he is perfectly comfortable in forcing Ukraine to concede illegally occupied territory to Russia. It doesn't take that much of a stretch of imagination to apply the same concept to the Taiwan - China situation.

I saw in IG - things you don't see being reported. man I watch the news but i guess since all these were from US, they filtered all these from the news in Canada.
Nvidia
CEO Jensen Huang announced a deal to provide the kingdom its high-end AI Blackwell chips.
Tesla
CEO Elon Musk and Amazon
CEO Andy Jassy were among the attendees, as well as other high-profile executives and power players such as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Alphabet
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman
President Ruth Porat, IBM
CEO Arvind Krishna, Palantir
CEO Alex Karp and Qualcomm
CEO Cristiano Amon.
let's just say all these stocks will go up this month.
I can see the lady on the last few rolls - AMD CEO. Dr. Lisa Su
Alphabet Chief Investment Officer Ruth Porat (L) and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang (R) |

Doesn't air force one have special defensive capabilities? How can the president just start flying around in a commercial jet?

—
Converting a luxury jet gifted by Qatar to President Donald Trump into a replacement for Air Force One could potentially cost hundreds of millions of dollars, and it could take up two years to install the necessary security equipment, communications and defensive capabilities for it to be safely used by the commander in chief, current and former officials told CNN.
Republican Sen. Ted Cruz said Tuesday that the plane “poses significant espionage and surveillance problems.” Across the aisle, Democratic Sen. Jack Reed, ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said accepting it would pose “immense counterintelligence risks by granting a foreign nation potential access to sensitive systems and communications.” Even if used temporarily as Trump has said he would, US agencies would need to ensure there were no security vulnerabilities by essentially stripping the aircraft down to its frame and rebuilding it with the necessary communications and security equipment.
“You would want to check the airplane out completely – strip it down, check for bugs, things like that, harden it to make sure nobody could hijack the electronics on the airplane … The ability for the president to command and control his military in the worst days, that takes a lot,” a retired senior military official familiar with Air Force One told CNN. That process could take anywhere from several months to two years, the retired senior military official told CNN. Another official familiar with the situation voiced concerns that the White House is not entirely aware of how much work would have to be done on the jet, which will involve multiple intelligence agencies. While the Air Force would largely oversee the stripping of the Qatari aircraft and rebuilding it to meet security requirements the project would also involve a slew of government agencies, including the Secret Service, Central Intelligence Agency, National Security Agency, and White House Communications Agency.
