The assassination occurred at a public university during a debate. To embrace political violence is to surrender the notion of liberal democracy norms. Once again what was the context of the conversation? What question was asked of him? I've heard him go off on how DEI hiring makes people question if the person was hired because they were the best, or to fill quotas. Does he automatically think every person of colour isn't qualified, or is he pointing out that when companies start hiring based on race are you getting the best person in that position or not.

I think what people hate is that he walked such a line without ever losing his shit and there's anger that the smoking gun isn't quite there in the way they want it to be. Salman Rushdie is a perfect example of that. I'm a fan of the guy, as a public figure he spoke a lot about Muslims which put himself in constant danger. He's had numerous assassination attempts on his life, and he knows his view attracts danger, but he's accepted that risk. Charlie Kirk is no different.

I’ve never said once here I was glad he was murdered. What I’m disgusted by is the fact that people are treating him as he was some beacon of hope in the world while doing nothing but enhancing division for an exorbitant paycheque.
He was killed because of the exact cause that he championed. Guns should be in the hands of every American because it’s their right, given by god (I don’t know of anything in the bible about “Americans get guns” but I haven’t read it that closely in recent memory) and any violence or deaths as a result are an unfortunate necessity. If he truly believes that, then anyone who wants to truly honour his memory, should end it at “well that’s unfortunate, but it was worth it so the murderer could have his rights.”
