Yes but it's a sliding scale on who gets to celebrate a death - it's not black and white at all and it's certainly not evil to celebrate a death in itself. How far down the list of Hitler's lieutenants do we go before it's wrong to celebrate their death? The first level of Goebbels, Himmler, and Goring? Is it wrong to celebrate when Leni Riefenstahl (Hitler's propagandist) dies?

Taking a modern day example, RFK Jr. is going to inflict mass suffering in the US - many people will die because of his views on science and medicine. How many people need to die before he turns into a villain and we celebrate his death? Do we have to wait till child mortality returns to what it was in 1900 when nearly 1 in 5 children in the US died before the age of 5 and then it's ok to celebrate because he's Medical Hitler? Or can the doctors who are waving huge red flags on him today celebrate if he were to complete his journey into becoming shoe leather today?

Regarding Kirk - maybe he doesn't rise to that to the people here because he didn't directly harm you or maybe you're unfamiliar with his work but he did harm a lot of people. He actively directed his followers to target certain communities and ruined a lot of lives and put a lot of people in danger. There are certainly a group of people who, when they celebrate his death, are just releasing the feelings that Kirk created.

It’s not some run of the mill “left celebrates the death of the right” thing. Someone like John Rustad or PP or pick 99% of right wing politicians and normal people would not be posting a negative thing about them.

He said black women do not have the thinking power to be successful so they need to steal jobs from qualified white men. He said the civil rights act was a mistake. These words put onto a massive platform to indoctrinate disenfranchised young people due to falling quality of life in their country from their OWN government and place blame on minority groups is not only dangerous, it’s fucking abhorrent.
The far right and far left comparison is an absolute fallacy. The far right is based on removing rights from those deemed lesser through historical acts of violence and policy where the far left is campaigning on protecting these people.
No one is talking about banning Christianity, banning straight marriage or adoptions. The party who claims to be about freedom is trying to only create freedom for a group they deem worthy, while only providing freedom for small facets of society with things like gun laws, forced Christianity in school, at the expense of those they deem unworthy. Being a mouthpiece for these beliefs and policies to enrich themselves does not make someone a hero.
