If this is the best Conservatives can offer in terms of ideas and opinions then good riddance. Modern day Conservatives have wandered so far from the origins of Conservatism that they don't deserve to call themselves that. They want big govt when it's for them, small govt when it's for others, they want rules for thee but not for them. Most modern day Cons are just grifters- so few are genuinely decent people who just believe in less intervention and have a preference for how things have always been done.
At least the Commies and Socialists are consistent - they want big gov't for everyone, they want it in everyone's house, and they think rich people are bad.
