Philadelphia cans Hextall because he won’t fire the coach, team doesn’t fight enough and doesn’t take enough penalties. :drunk:

First time since 2012 that I have been bullish on this team. The new core is looking good. If Hughes pans out and our goalie situation improves we can contend again.

Oh ya? A year after the Cup run? :considered:

That 6-0 game was almost bad to watch. Once the score was 4-0 with 7:40 left in the first, there was no pushback from the Flyers. I was waiting for a big hit, a scrum, a fight or even some sustained scoring pressure, but it never came. Instead, I was counting down the minutes seeing if Sparks could earn the shutout and he didn't have to work for it. If even the flyers can't muster a penalty in a 6-0 blowout, there's issues.

In which we won the Presidents Trophy

punkwax 11-26-2018 06:59 PM

True.. but I didn’t believe in them in ‘11-‘12 as much as I did the year prior, myself. That was the season to do it IMO. Now we wait.

AzNightmare 11-26-2018 10:04 PM

And that was the same season that little bitch Keith elbowed Daniel in the face and we didn't have him for most of that first round.

True but nobody was stopping the Kings that year they destroyed everyone in the playoffs.

in 4 series they went 4-1 / 4-0 / 4-1 / 4-2

Good job, Jim Byrne.

American born and living in Canada. He's sung at Canuck games before. Good to see him alive and well.......... well............ sort of.

Go Canucks, GO!!!!!!!

It was seeded at $500,000. Everyone was buying today plus this year, the online 50/50 now is the same as the in-house 50/50. I bought my $20 worth and wasn't even close.

MG1 11-28-2018 12:44 AM

Freaking hell, not even close, lol. Good cause, so it's a win!

Is anyone as pissed as me about Eriksson just lazily not burying that open net in the first period? Fuck I can’t stand that guys body language and lack of anything resembling conviction or passion.

like somethings in life that we have no control, we just accept it
but if u said this two years ago, id be fuming too LOLOL

Liquid_o2 11-28-2018 10:56 AM

3 more years too. I would be more livid if the Canucks didn't have a ton of cap space. With Nilsson and Del Zotto coming off the books after this season, it will clear up $5.5 million in cap space. That will be eaten up by new contracts for Goldy and Boeser... leaving enough space for the future.

By 2020 they only have $30 million tied up in contracts. That is when guys like Schaller, Gagner, and Markstrom come off the books. Hopefully by then, we can put more focus on the young guys.

68style 11-28-2018 11:49 AM

I think the cap is going up this off-season too... at least that's what I read somewhere on The Athletic... we are in good shape cap wise even with blunders like Eriksson and Luongo's contract.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Goldy is being given prime minutes/offensive zone starts in an effort to pump him up for a trade. He's not a Green guy at all... the only thing that saved him from the press box so far besides his obvious skill level/assists streak is his bromance with Petey I think... if that is in fact the case I totally disagree with it, I'm actually a big fan of Goldobin's... but you can tell Green loves to hate him.

Expresso 11-28-2018 11:53 AM

If there is chemistry, why would they break that up consider this team is starving for goals lately.

How about Gaudette getting 6 shifts and less than 10 minutes the entire game.

Or what is Brown thinking with the second PP unit and not one right hand shot lol.

Jmac 11-28-2018 11:55 AM

Edler also comes off the books this year although I hope they re-sign him to a 2-year extension. He and Tanev are the only worthwhile dmen we have at the moment. Hutton and Stecher should, realistically, be 3rd pair guys. Hopefully Hughes and Juolevi can be top 4-quality next year and we’d finally have a decent D core for the first time in a long time.

Liquid_o2 11-28-2018 12:52 PM

I believe Edler has stated that he wants to stay in Vancouver. I would be fine with him back for a few more years at a similar price, since we really don't have anyone to take over his role yet.

68style 11-28-2018 02:14 PM

Yah I for one don't get the Edler hate, he's as strong a d-man as we got. I rarely see him get outright burned, just wish he wouldn't play goalie so often. Oh... and not get hurt so often lol!

mb_ 11-28-2018 03:43 PM

I take back what I said about Edler earlier in this thread, his absence was definitely felt lol

eclipseman 11-28-2018 07:07 PM

I like Edler. Wish he would do more of his signature shoulder checks when opponents are running at him though...I guess that's lost with age.
