I hate that guy so much. I'm pretty sure that 1 in 4 of his goals are empty netters.

He is on pace to break 30 points this year! Career year for Eriksson in a Canucks uniform!

#3moreyears

There's no point in buying him out, still eating his salary cap hit... his average annual salary is unfortunately double what he's probably contributed here...

That said, his actual pay in the next 3 years is quite small, his contract was front-loaded big-time... and he's substantially better than other guys on the team in certain roles. Green is using him very effectively right now IMO.

If he could just wipe that "Why am I here?" look off his face... fuck...

murd0c 12-21-2018 11:46 AM

he at least has been playing a lot better this year...

Jmac 12-21-2018 12:04 PM

His NMC is over, now a limited NTC, so we can send him to the AHL or trade him (probably with retention). He can also be exposed in the expansion draft.

Since his pay is mainly signing bonuses, it’s basically buyout proof. Best time will probably be following the lockout, when small market teams want a high cap hit, low salary, and the signing bonus will have already been paid by Aquaman.

He’s a passable 3rd liner this year. But at $6M cap hit, he should be a first liner.

What an awful UFA year in retrospect. Almost everyone who went all in got hosed.

NHL already announced suspension hearing for illegal check to the head:

No hearing for this days earlier because it was deemed a shoulder-to-shoulder hit.

eclipseman 12-22-2018 11:04 PM

Luongo won't retire until he has 500 wins for sure (but that might be sooner than later, he's been playing pretty well when the panthers are up for it)

was at the USA vs Czech game. Watching Quinn Hughes play he looks to be a solid Dman. He also fought, so kids got some grit. Hopefully he will grow in size cuz he does have the talent to play in the NHL. Maybe we can get his younger brother Jack Hughes as well.

Lol. First time seeing the Hughes brothers in person playing.

Jmac 12-23-2018 02:18 PM

Someone needs to teach him how to fight.

Step 1: Gloves off

FIXED

I truly appreciate him stepping up and all but possibly getting seriously injured before the start of a promising NHL career is not worth it, considering #canucksluck

Jmac 12-25-2018 01:33 PM

The odds of suffering a career-impacting injury in a fight are significantly slimmer than just playing hockey (e.g. getting hit, going awkwardly into the boards at high speed, catching a rut, blocking a shot, etc.) especially against other teenagers in a best-on-best tournament (where there are seldom guys who can really cause some damage).

Aww yeah DiPietro is starting!
