I hear that the reason Gagner got sent back down to the Marlies is that he didn't have to clear waivers unlike some other players. He was playing pretty well from what I saw before he got sent down. If it was a numbers game, why didn't they waive Schaller and send him down if nobody picked him up? GMJB should straight up say he screwed up when signing Schaller to a 2-year contract. The guy is a plug and not NHL material. I'd much rather prefer Gagner on the 3rd line and have him on the 2nd PP.

Didn't know who Josh Leivo was prior to the trade but really liking that trade right now

I don’t like how he went from waiver bait to the top line pretty much immediately without so much as a practice to evaluate him, but it’s worked out okay so far.

I had two dedicated leafs fans reach out to me that day saying Babcock is an idiot and we got a player in Leivo. So far so good I’d say.

Yeah, Leafs fans on Reddit were going crazy at how we got a steal of a player. It was really weird, because almost every Leafs fan was unanimous in hoping he ends up a legit scorer on Vancouver.

I liked Leivo, just couldn't fit him into the roster and they didn't want to give him the Corrado treatment. Apparently Dubas looked into Carcone once before this trade so he got what he could/wanted it seems, while doing Leivo a solid.
