That in most of the world, you wouldn’t get that.
A person living on the streets in Thailand would come here and be housed and taken care of. A person living in a shelter being subsidized by the govt. here moving to Thailand would be on the street.
My point was, everything you can come here and get for free, whether you’re flat broke or have a suitcase full of millions of dollars, you can come to Canada and get socialized healthcare, housing, etc. where on the flip side, going to a Thailand etc. you have to pay for all of that, especially as a foreigner. Therefor, you aren’t the total leach you are here when you go there and actually stimulate the economy.

Dude you're out to lunch.
How's someone on the streets of Thailand going to come here? On what grounds? On what visa? On what passport?
It costs like $10k+ or marrying someone from here and even then takes a year+ to get approved.
This example is stupid. Why do you think coming here is so easy? It's not. Otherwise half the Philippines would empty into this country literally overnight if what you're saying is true.
You gotta stop listening to PP's redonk speeches or watching looney tune YouTube videos.
TOURISM stimulates Thailand's economy, not a bunch of burnt out divorced white guys who can't hack it here. Not meaning any insult to people's dad's here with that generalization, but by and large THAT is who is going to Thailand. And Vietnam. And Philippines.
If someone like Mike's dad goes there to have a lovely retirement, more power to him that's living his dream for some nice weather and good food and I'm sure he's a model citizen while there... but the only dudes I have ever seen going to live there in my age group are oil riggers or US army guys who got in legal trouble at home or lost all their money to substance abuse and went there because they're less of a loser there just being a foreigner than they are at home and can still get pussy every weekend if they want it on the pretense of support and or possible future citizenship.

I stayed in Richmond recently and half the hotel wings in the hotel were reserved for refugees. A server at a separate hotel confirmed it was happening at their hotel too.

I met this guy when he was running for city council. A week or 2 back he messages me asking if I want to join the con party. He is thinking about running for the cons in the next election in Nanaimo. That's his reply to a post. Sounds more like a commie then a con to me.

the carbon tax can't win.. the conservatives have already succeeded in making it the biggest election issue and there's nothing the liberals can do but to watch it all get undone once they lose the election. the rebates only apply to those who make a hair over minimum wage, and the revenue collected doesn't even go into carbon initiatives, it just goes into general revenue. they can't even spin it in any way to make it popular, it's done unless the liberals pull off a miracle election win.
