Sad news from an already sad story, coronors report saying Botchford died from coke and fentanyl overdose |
^ hate to say I called it but I did.. RIP Botch. |
man, that's some rough news to have. lots of people were deeply affected by the loss of botch. imagine how proud he would be of our team today. halford and brough still make mention of him from time to time. he is missed. |

It's was and still is a huge loss for the local media scene and hopefully what he has done for the new batch of local media guys will be felt by them doing the same for the new generation. |

What are the plans for the next season... there's zero chance they're going to be playing in every city in the USA the way things are down there... it's just gonna end up like baseball... I feel like they're hurtling through these playoffs to award the Stanley Cup and then it's going to be like... well... now what ? Blindly hoping for a solution of some ssort by the time that rolls around? I doubt the Canada/USA border is even going to be open before the end of the year let alone teams travelling nightly to new places by plane. Sigh........ |

I'm so out of the loop in Vancouver sports radio/media. I don't remember hearing Botch died, maybe I did and forgot but I enjoyed his takes. That said I'm not feeling sorry for anyone who OD's, feel sorry for his family but not him. |
I swear I'm the only one who couldn't stand Botch what so ever, when he came on the radio I would normally put on music. That being said still super sad he died and no question it sucks. |
public opinion on botchford sure turned. he used to be so bush league and the guy with all of the made up inside scoops and theories. i cant remember if he completely turned that around towards the end, of if everyone is now just nostalgia because he was the vancouver guy. |
I think he got better once he stopped trying to be an insider. The Provies were generally an enjoyable read and obviously influenced a lot of sports columnists. He seemed like he genuinely loved the Canucks and the city. |
I couldn’t stand Botch for years early on. Then he seemingly matured and my opinion of him changed over time. I quite enjoyed his rants towards the unfortunate early end of his time on earth. |
Is today’s game actually 6:45 or is it 7:30? |
6:45 |
