Literally the first 5 hits on Google with date restriction of July 1-August 1 (series started August 2)

It shifted after Minnesota dominated game 1 but then the Canucks were back to being favourites after winning game 2.

I'm sure part of it is my own bias viewing the canucks as always the under dog in anything we ever do lol.

I love Tanev. He so rarely makes mistakes and can carry almost anyone on his pairing (Pouliot excluded).

Crazy game well done.

The Tic tac toe play was reminiscent of vintage sedins

Allen didn't play that bad in game 5, but I can understand that decision. But if I was the coach, I would have yanked Binnington after it was 2-0, while the game was still within reach. Those 2 goals didn't look great, especially when you need clutch performance.

It was pretty obvious it wasn't going to be his night so I'm surprised they kept him in for another 2 goals... by then it was too late.
With the way things were looking, it seemed St.Louis would have done better if they just played 6 on 5 the whole game, lol

Kelly Hrudey said the same thing about how Benchington should've been pulled after the 2nd goal to give the Blues a chance to catch up after being down 2-0. It's already way too late when you're down 4-0.

Stewart was being stupid and said you needed to give Benchington the benefit of the doubt cause of what he did last year. Yeah, no. He's been horrible during this entire COVID Cup. Allen's numbers (outside of wins) was better than Benchington all season long.

yeah, the benefit of the doubt was fine to let him start. But 2 shaky goals...
I mean it would have been maybe debatable if they were actually 2 good goals.. but yeah.

I believe it was Schiefele who said the Canucks are the dark horse to win it this year. Now, obviously we can dream but lets not get too high here. Vegas is one hell of a scary team to face. Canucks have overachieved again with this victory, anything else is a huge bonus from here on out!!

I just love to see the saltiness from the other Canadian teams who are supposedly contenders or further along in their rebuild... Pretty much every other Canadian team.

Feels like 2010/2011 again, the rest of the country begrudgingly having to cheer for Vancouver. Except way sooner than anybody expected.

Maybe last night's game between Calgary and Dallas affected Berube's thought process a bit. I felt that it was an absolute mistake by Calgary to pull Talbot with the game at 3-3. They hit the panic button with the game tied and it was an absolute shit show from there on out. So rather than pull Binnington at 2-0 or 3-0, Berube decided to do it at the 4-0 point in the game. Definitely too little too late by then.

icing on the cake tonight is Binnington complaining last year that he should have won the Calder Trophy instead of Petey :smug:

He also was salty about it the day before the series opener when asked by media. At the end of the series, Pettersson is leading the league in playoff scoring and Binnington went 0-5 with a 0.851 Sv% :lawl:

Reminds me of Matt Murray, who didn’t start either of the games against Vancouver this year. Salty af

I agree............. but they also have 3 cups between the 2 of them so.......... can only get so far making fun of them lol

68style 08-22-2020 01:45 AM

This is a really cool video, and how can you not like Louis Domingue after watching this??? The way he is with his kids and N64?!?! LOL

Toronto media/fans bitching all night and this morning about 7-7:30 PDT (10-10:30 EDT) start times for the Vancouver-Vegas series.

“Sorry Vancouver and Vegas fans, Toronto has deemed your series worthy of watching as it contains Canada’s only remaining team and, as such, has demanded that the NHL change your schedule to accommodate Toronto.”

I hate Toronto so much ...

Hondaracer 08-22-2020 09:59 AM

Even With cuthbert and the other clown you can hear they are kinda putting in these little jabs against the Canucks or kinda breaking down irrelevant shit in an attempt to say this play or that play was lacking or trying to expose some weakness intentionally

And then Anthony Stewart last night saying it was a “tasteless” tweet when the Canucks said by binnington on their account, like fuck off TO media

:rukidding:. Yet another example of why Toronto is seen as the center of the universe

-don't really care about what the loyal fans or bandwagoners for teams that are east of the Rockies think about the Canucks.

They can go to bed early on Sunday night and not watch our team play for all I care.

Our Canucks are representing Canada! :fuckyea:

Tim Budong 08-22-2020 06:45 PM

Having Bieksa the homer on the panel is very refreshing
so its a huge difference already, juice tryin hard to sell this team to the rest of Canada

spoon.ek9 08-22-2020 07:05 PM

this is the same kind of media that painted the sedins as soft but as soon as daniel stood up for himself that one time, they immediately tried to paint him as a goon :lol

they just love to hate us

68style 08-22-2020 07:34 PM

Yah fuck the rest of Canada hockey wise, they were cheering for Boston back east in 2011, they can eat a dick

SkinnyPupp 08-22-2020 08:05 PM

The antagonism between Canadian fans, and inferiority complex of Vancouver fans are other small reasons why I lost interest in 2013...

Fuck Toronto though still

spoon.ek9 08-22-2020 08:40 PM

There's definitely people out east who WILL cheer for the Canucks being the only Canadian team left but we won't hardly hear about them. It's much easier to spread the hate.

But hey, either way, with or without the support from the rest of the country it won't affect me.

WD-40 08-22-2020 08:42 PM

Let them be on their high horse. Bottom line. We’re still in it.
