For a split second, I thought it was the BC Lions in the blackgroud.............. nope. That's an All-American, high school/college team wearing the same coloured jersey. But, wait................ what's that on the right?

Bad move for the Canucks, good move for Biega. Benning clearly doing him a solid but sucks to lose defensive depth for a journeyman ECHLer when we get crushed by injuries on defence every year.

I'm glad he's getting an opportunity elsewhere, but how come Detroit (or any of the other teams interested) didn't pick him up on waivers last week?

Roster flexibility.

If you claim a player off waivers, you can’t trade him without first placing him on waivers, you can’t demote him without placing him on waivers, etc.

Trading for a player that has cleared waivers removes the trade restriction and you can freely move him between the AHL and NHL for 30 days or until he plays 10 NHL games.

I think Biega camp was the one requesting for a trade?

Holy Sh*T ... James Neal with 4 goals tonight for Edmonton! He's leading the NHL with 6. The other night, he got like 2. What possessed him?

On the Canucks front, who is ready for the big C unveil?

Don't forget to buy a 50/50! It's going to be big. Serious down payment on a house or condo big.

OMFG! The first game in 70 that they showed............. Jim Robson and the organ playing before the puck drop at Pacific Coliseum. Brought tears to my eyes. Okay, maybe not tears, but you get the idea.

Didn't realize how big Kopitar was until he showed up to the opening puck drop. Everybody else looked tiny.

And Mark did the octave jump at the end, so we gonna win.

Finally saw why the "50" looked so weird. At least they used the right hockey stick.

I wAnder if they could have put a puck in there somewhere.......... in the "5"? I guess it would be too cheesy. The Zero is a hockey rink, right? Puck on its side inside?
