Luongo was born in Montreal, so I can see why they picked tonight’s game.

Canucks: 35-26-6 (76 points) with 27 regulation wins
Assuming ~77% of wins are regulation wins (77% of games go to overtime) and the Canucks go 0.500 the rest of the way (7-7-1, 5 regulation wins), the Canucks will finish with 91 points and 32 regulation wins.
Current projected cut is at 91 points.
To beat the Canucks at 91 points, other teams have to have a record of:
- St. Louis 0-12-2
- Colorado 0-12-3
- Dallas 4-8-2
- Edmonton 4-8-1
- Vegas 4-7-2
- Calgary 6-6-1
- Nashville 7-6-1
- Minnesota 7-5-2
- Winnipeg 7-5-1
- Arizona 8-3-2
- Chicago 10-2-2
- Anaheim 14-0-0
- San Jose 14-0-0
- Los Angeles N/A
The musical chairs at the moment is between Vancouver, Calgary, Nashville, and Minnesota. One of those teams won't make it. Arizona has an outside chance to make it 2 of those teams. Chicago, Anaheim, and San Jose are all pretty much done. Los Angeles tops out at 88 points with a perfect record, so they're certainly done.

Forget all that analytics and stats ... what does your gut say? Playoffs or outside looking in?
The game vs. Columbus was certainly one that the team had to take advantage of. Blue Jackets played against Edmonton on Saturday night.
Our team would have more jump and energy against its opponent.
Defensive miscues again. Breakdowns in our defensive zone coverage has hurt the team all season!
Why am I not surprised that Stecher is out of position when CBJ scores their first goal??
If the team makes the playoffs by the skin of their teeth, it might be a short and easy 1st round series for the opposing team with the way the team defends in their own zone.
Regretfully, my gut says no ... they are batting 3-6-1 in their last 10. Not good enough when you lose 2 and win 1 all the way to finish line.
They're gonna have to do better than .500 the rest of the way. Given what we've seen lately, I highly doubt this team can pull that off. No markie + an inability to play defence means this team is likely done, which means bye bye Benning! (fingers crossed).
The only positive news is that Boeser was back to practice in a no-contact jersey. With him back in the line up (hopefully soon), it'll have a ripple effect to our offense. Boeser back to top line, Toffoli to second line to reunite his chemistry with Pearson, and Boeser (or Toffoli) to 2nd unit PP.
On the bright side, Demko looked solid last night despite the loss. Defensive zone coverage shit the bed twice and lost the game for us as well as not being able to capitalize on our PP chances.
This season has basically been a roller coaster of emotions. We were leading the division with plenty of games in hand for a couple weeks, now were just clinging on to one of the last playoff spots. I feel like were either gonna clinch the playoffs or lose it in the very last game of the season.
Not sure if anyone remembers but it was in like 05 or 06 I believe making the playoffs came down to a game against the avalanche and they got completely stomped and missed
Can’t get dat image out of my head lol

I know that feeling all too well. 06-07 Leafs had an amazing 6-5 win over the Habs, in their last game of the season, on HNIC, to get into 8th place. The next day, they had to wait for the outcome of the Isles/Devils game to know if they clinched. Instead of starting Brodeur, the Devils played their backup. Leaf fans were immediately accusing the Devils of trying to give the Isles the win. However, it took a shooutout in the last game of the season to get bumped out of 8th.
