Still trying to decide between the PS5 or the Xbox, I don't play online whatsoever, prefer single player games. I've always carried a PS, but the Xbox in terms of tech is looking more appealing. Just worried about the exclusives which have been historically piss poor (I hate Halo and GOW).

What games do you play mostly? If you've got a gaming PC I would say it's probably safe to skip the Xbox as microsoft will probably release their exclusives for both PC and XBOX next gen. Personally, all my friends play on ps5 and gran turismo alone can sway me more towards the ps5. If you've got a lot of ps4 games, the upscaling feature on the ps5 is pretty nice as well. A lot of first party ps4 titles will now run on 4k60 and some will have better textures/lighting.

Announced PS5 full exclusives (not including timed exclusives, but some may make it to PC eventually). Includes some PS4 cross gen games

Astro’s Playroom (free)
Demon’s Souls
Destruction AllStars
Gran Turismo 7
Horizon Forbidden West
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Returnal
Sackboy: A Big Adventure
Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Stray

XBOX Exclusives (not including timed, most will be on PC as well) Includes some XB1 cross gen games

As Dusk Falls
The Ascent
Avowed
Call of the Sea
CrossfireX
Echo Generation
Everwild
ExoMecha
Fable
Forza Motorsport
The Gunk
Halo Infinite
Hello Neighbor 2
The Medium
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis
Scorn
Second Extinction: Reclaim Earth
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2
STALKER 2
State of Decay 3
Tetris Effect: Connected
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide

Also most likely XBOX exclusives: (nothing officially announced, but obvious enough and backed up by interviews)

Starfield
Elder Scrolls VI
Wolfenstein III
The next DOOM game

Maybe important: All of these XBOX games can be played for $10 a month You will never have to buy a first party game, and a ton of indies as well (and older EA games will be included for another $5)

(lists might not be totally accurate, I just copy and pasted from Polygon articles)

Maybe one day Xbox can get out of the hardware business, release a Game Pass app on PlayStation and we can all be happy without having to buy two different consoles lol...

There's no way I'm buying an Xbox on top of a PlayStation 5, nor am I going to buy a PC, but if they made a way where I can stream Game Pass and all I need to buy is a controller and perhaps a small box or stick I'd consider that.

You'll be able to stream them on Android and PC very soon if not already (Apple is blocking them but I think they are working on a browser based solution to get around it). I'm sure they'll come out with an app for TVs eventually.

That would be great. Looks like it's something they plan to do at some point.

I used to be a PC guy, but I'm long overdue for an upgrade and rebuild which I haven't done, other priorities right now, and don't feel like dropping $1,500 for a new build.

So 100% of my gaming will be on console. I need something that can satiate that completely.

Game Pass is looking quite good with Xbox as well, I'm just on the fence as I've always owned a PS, never an Xbox.

Making the jump feels like moving from Apple to Android here :lol

The exclusives Skinny posted look far better on Xbox here, which is historically not the case.

In terms of games I play, single player primarily, Action/RPG, RPG, turn-based strategy primarily.

I'm not quite a fan of the Japanese exclusives on PS, recently play the FF7 Remake, and absolutely hated it. Can't really get into the Yakuza games either, I find it all too childish for my tastes.

I still can't decide here, it sounds like I'm leaning Xbox? Blah, I can't believe I'm saying that.

mikemhg 11-10-2020 11:31 AM

Ooooweeee!

I was just reading the new Xbox will have full keyboard/mouse support, obviously the game will need to allow that though.

That's HUGE for me, I can't play FPS games on a controller, if Xbox games will allow the use of a USB mouse and keyboard, I'm all in, no need for a gaming PC.

This is a HUGE factor I haven't heard discussed here.

StylinRed 11-10-2020 01:08 PM

iirc you could use a kb/mouse on the ps3/ps4 too same with the older xboxs

BlackV62K2 11-10-2020 04:39 PM

For those that got their Xbox Series X today, double check your warranty expiration date. Mine was set to my pre-order date back in Sept 22/2021 instead of Nov 10/2021. I had to contact Xbox support and they are looking into the issue and it should be corrected in the next few days.

underscore 11-10-2020 09:40 PM

The one thing I'd watch with kb/m on a console is whether it properly supports the ones you want to use. I imagine basic right click/left click/WASD is fine but stuff like mapping extra mouse keys or changing DPI might not work.

You sure, with games? I've always seen those garbage Keyboard/Mouse combos that you had to buy that were always janky on the PS?

Like these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...fe1ba8b51029f5

Have I been missing out here?

GLOW 11-11-2020 02:44 PM

why are these console keyboards so expensive? lol isn't there an adapter you can get on the cheap to allow normal mouse/kb? :lol

SpeedStars 11-11-2020 03:48 PM

I think it depends on the game. I know for modern warfare as an example, you could plug in any mkb and it would work. They also sell adapters for mkb but imo it's kind of cheating. In fps' it gives you aim assist with mkb precision.

In other news....amazon updated me with a delivery date of Nov13-16. Though I hope this is just a place holder date.

I remember hooking up a kb mouse to try n play battlefield bad company?
Kb mouse use was game dependant tho, unless you had a programmable kb like the one ya linked, but I never bothered using a kb because it had to be wired, and I sit way too far

Mr.Money 11-11-2020 10:04 PM

anyone ordered from bestbuy.ca its coming from the vancity warehouse :ahwow:

MarkyMark 11-11-2020 11:26 PM

Was able to order a PS5 from London Drugs of all places tonight, hopefully it arrives by next weekend.

I was going to wait but I have a couple of weeks off around Xmas so fuck it, I'll be finishing my last PS4 games on it lol

HonestTea 11-12-2020 03:58 PM

Guess we won't be getting our PS5's on launch day from Best Buy..

Razor Ramon HG 11-12-2020 04:31 PM

Got my PS5 today.

Grabbing copy of Demon's Souls later. Contemplating if I want Yakuza 7 on PS5 or PC now.

:fullofwin:

beatdownvictim 11-12-2020 04:48 PM

Ordered on LD yesterday, wqsnt planning on getting a ps5 but...got a 65cx recently so...might as well

SpeedStars 11-12-2020 09:57 PM

Amazon completely dropped the ball. My order is stuck on "shipping now" and I dont think anyone in BC received one on launch day. Zero communication as well. On the upside the new cod releases today which is nice I guess.

Araaadi 11-12-2020 11:34 PM

Got mine delivered from Canada Post, was an original order from London Drugs. Didn't really get a chance to play anything just transferred games over and save files. Looking for a copy of Spider-Man tomorrow.

StylinRed 11-13-2020 12:09 AM

My Xbox n ps5 still aren't here... Scheduled for next week grumble grumble grumble (the source n Walmart)

Razor Ramon HG 11-13-2020 02:07 AM

Demon Souls looks amazing. Currently playing on Performance Mode which is 1440/60 and it's not too noticeable a downgrade in quality vs. the Cinematic Mode that's 4K/30.
