A guy on hockey team was kicked off the group WhatsApp chat, and likely the team if and when it gets started off again, for being your typical Maga covid conspiracy asshole.

Anyway, he posted a quote from Thomas Jefferson on his Instagram saying "I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend."

Taking my every fiber to not comment something snarky like "what did Thomas Jefferson say about being an obnoxious asshole" or "it's not because of your beliefs, it's because of you yelling at how stupid people are who do not have the same beliefs as you and calling them sheep"

Ski and snowboard at your local mountain. For example, if you live in Vancouver, you should ski at Cypress, Grouse or Mt. Seymour.

Only this time, the host took the call seriously and posed the question to her guest. The guest just said there would be logistical and legal difficulties, and so on. Funny and scary when obvious satire is mistaken for legitimate suggestions of authoritarian measures, and people are willing to consider them.

That's kind of what Australia, Italy, etc did, road checks demanding to see people's licenses or travel papers, but safe conduct documents aren't new, they've been around since the 1400s if not earlier, heck we still use em today, but no one bat's an eye to using a drivers license or passport

what disability might make wearing a mask difficult?
wouldnt you wanna stay home or secure a faceshield instead?

I thought that was a weird one too. Loophole waiting to be exploit/ argue over.
If for some reason you can't put on a mask, there is the option of face shield.
face shield is literally a hoop around your head.

If you still can't put that on, there is a much bigger problem and you probably shouldn't be outside during this time.

Again a policy that leaves people to misinterpreted in all of their own way.

The government of Denmark drafted a law giving them the power to forcibly vaccinate select individuals.
It was shelved due to large scale protests, however. For now at least.

This reminds me of employees I had to deal with that came to work with doctor note stating that she needs break every 30 minutes. There was also another note stating that she cannot use her arm at all doing front line work dealing with customers.. People will try to exploit loopholes whenever possible.

Yay, covid is over soon.

Not. Only 516 cases today but 10 more deaths.

https://globalnews.ca/news/7475615/b...e-november-20/

Crazy 1155 cases in Alberta.

Obsideon 11-20-2020 03:48 PM

516 today, 10 deaths.
Progress!

StylinRed 11-20-2020 04:00 PM

Yep Richmond McDonald's employee/s have contracted the virus tho (heads up)

whitev70r 11-20-2020 04:29 PM

What was the reason given that you must wear masks in all indoor places but schools are exempt? Not understanding the logic ... I think most kids do but why not mandatory? I think teachers want mandatory masks for students.

Crazy 1155 cases in Alberta.

This is legit measurable progress though. 1 week, 6 days ago the measures were implemented. This means that considering the incubation period, that maybe Wednesday would have been the first day of seeing effects of those measures. If that continues, it means the measures, while they were seemingly not going to be effective, are being effective. Any progress is worth being happy about when there’s so much to be mad about.

Interesting...... I got one in the mail. Delivered by letter carrier.

Obviously a paper run by Falun Gong, but I'm not offended by it. I dislike the CCP and maybe these guys are the checks and balances part of the equation.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/epoch...apon-1.5548217

A paper with an agenda. CCP has an agenda, too.

The only issue is some people here may make it a racist issue. It's the government, not the people. It's not like the people of China have any say in anything.

StylinRed 11-20-2020 05:07 PM

I received one in the mail too, but junk mail typically goes straight into the trash/recycling, unless I spot coupons :lol

MG1 11-20-2020 05:11 PM

No coupons at all. Not a single one. At least I don't think so. I should actually open it up, lol.

Falun Gong started as a free newspaper they hand out to people in Hong Kong at the MTR stations.

Looks like they are going back to their roots but in english!

They've been around almost since the beginning, zero effect on the CCP. They don't help their cases with their Crazy religious claim that they print along side their Anti CCP stuff.

You can't take them serious when they criticize the CCP for allegedly inventing the virus that spread around the world, then the next article suggest you can pray away the virus and that their holy water can cure cancer.

The biggest danger to a regime has always been an idea, dream of better something they heard about but don't have a real grasp on. Falun Gong has done zero of that. USA have been sublimely export their ideology to China for decades, being able to go to USA and live they way they do has been a dream for many Chinese for generations. This has all been shatter thanks to Trump and Covid.

Anyways where is everybody located that they get Falun Gong newspaper in the mail. I could use some to pad my compost bin lol.
