“I’m going to drive my parent to a medical appointment in X community”

Oh, ok

So let’s use golf courses as an example, they are all still open. You think people gonna stop golfing outside their health region? Lol

yray 04-19-2021 02:03 PM

Random audits, random roadside checks by all BC police to make sure people are not travelling outside of local community. for all major highways. Huge fine for non essential travel outside. new border signs on BC Alberta border. warning Albertans to stay home if here for non essential travel like vacation.

So, these are the tonnes of bricks that Horgan is going to use to deter non essential travel within BC and between provinces?? Hmmmm. :suspicious:

I registered today and was able to book for Monday morning through the government site.

gg to those who live in Burnaby and work in Vancouver. There's a chance you'll get fined because you're travelling from fraser health to vancouver coastal health. The province can just setup base at skytrain stations and fine everyone on the trains

westopher 04-19-2021 03:31 PM

That’s one of, if not the dumbest thing someone’s said here recently and Charlesincharge posted multiple times in the last few pages

whitev70r 04-19-2021 03:40 PM

Hopefully, Horgan can employ those who have lost their jobs .. hospitality/restaurant industry to go to Translink stations and checkpoints to have these nice conversations with people. Obviously, officers like Cain doesn't have time to do that, he's busy making our streets safe.

Alpine 04-19-2021 04:02 PM

Sure, let's restrict people from travelling from one city to another but let's continue to allow people to fly/travel into the country.

mikemhg 04-19-2021 04:49 PM

This is absolutely fucking ridiculous.

I've been a supporter of this government through the entire course of COVID, but this is it for me.

You allow international flights from all the places in which these variants come from, but you're trying to tell me I can't go camp, or stay at a cabin on the island/interior? :lol

Guess what Horgan, if I'm a retired boomer living in a house I bought 20+ years ago out of the city, it sure as fuck easy to "stay home" with a beach or campground minutes drive from you.

When you live in a condo in the city, and we haven't been able to air travel in over a damn year now, good luck telling those people to "stay in your region".

Go fuck yourself.

My trip plans will go forward just as scheduled.

SkinnyPupp 04-19-2021 04:55 PM

Hard to believe the level of incompetence we're seeing. Wow

Let's completely ignore what's been shown to work for other countries, and just do random shit that has only one result - pissing off your constituents. FailFish

TIL that Burnaby is Fraser Health.. totally thought it was part of VCH.

I've listened to the high-up's in my company speak about visiting their vacation homes on the Coast, Interior and Island during this entire pandemic.

We've heard of party members in governments in each province visit their vacation homes abroad, and within Canada, especially lake country in Ontario.

Bonnie Henry literally took a flight to visit her family on the island during the Easter holiday.

You think those same people who own vacation properties will be hanging out in town?

No fucking way.

This is classism at its finest.

Obsideon 04-19-2021 05:05 PM

oh fucking yay.
Indoor dining restriction extended until May 25th
Many shops are going to shut down.

Visited the BC gov website this afternoon looking for pharmacy locations. Tried to sign up at a few Shoppers and Pharmasaves without any luck. Ended up getting an appointment for Wed from an independent pharmacy.

Pretty quick after all said and done.

twitchyzero 04-19-2021 07:04 PM

almost embarrassed to be a canadian right now

123K new cases and 600 deaths since easter

quasi 04-19-2021 07:48 PM

It looks like once you register depending on your postal code you might be able to book right away.

If you're in an area with high infection rate you'll get it quicker.

Or am I totally missing something?

StylinRed 04-19-2021 08:01 PM

When I regd my parents they got an appointment booking link right away

I registered then as well, but haven't got a link to book yet, maybe I gotta wait til next week

JDMDreams 04-19-2021 08:12 PM

Went to two donair stores for dinner tonight both closed, ended up going to a&w. This wouldn't have happened if we just closed for a month last year

RiceIntegraRS 04-19-2021 08:14 PM

I registered my parents at the same time 55+ and it took 3 days to get my dads appointedment booked, he got the Pfizer shot today, and my mom for some reason had to wait 5 extra days to book her appointment for this friday. Took 2 weeks total from registration to actually getting the vaccine.

Is it random what shot ur getting when registering?

Also..donair shops are like..take out only when they ARE open?..

underscore 04-19-2021 08:26 PM

Oh hey we finally got travel restrictions. A year late and not implemented in any logical way, but at this point I'm not surprised.

From what I've seen it just depends what the vaccination centre is using that day, parents had to go to different vac centres (availability) and each had a sign outside listing which vaccines they were using (both were only offering pfizer)
