sure there's probably alcohol involved so the distancing sucked but it's an outdoor gathering, why bother using police resources when people wont pay anyways

I actually don't have a problem with police pulling speeders in school zones, those people deserve the tickets, and they will impose more of a risk to peds.

I hate the police on alex fraser or hwy 17 pulling over drivers doing 90, seriously get a life, do something more important.

Biden announces today every American that wants a vaccine can get one today regardless of age. Presumably they also will have the follow up shots within the manufacturers recommended time frame.

Where in Canada we only have 2 provinces that are vaccinating 40 year olds

JDMDreams 04-19-2021 08:17 AM

VPD logic, Coronas,e Hastings drugs, ppl getting shot is no risk to public, loud cars and bikes has taken many lives over the years.

Under its updated timetable, B.C. is asking millennials and Gen-Xers to register on the following schedule:

Monday, April 19 – Registration opens for people aged 40 and up
Tuesday, April 20 – Registration opens for people aged 35 and up
Wednesday, April 21 – Registration opens for people aged 30 and up
Thursday, April 22 – Registration opens for people aged 25 and up
Friday, April 23 – Registration opens for people aged 18 and up

Ch28 04-19-2021 11:00 AM

Registration has been open for anyone to do so for the past several weeks. This entire "age X is now open to register" is nothing more than trying to make it seem like they're making progress.

Lol I got hella confused, I "registered" a couple weeks ago via some BC website and got a confirmation number which they told me is important and would make it easier. Then there's the register in age bracket thing and coworker is saying nah it's different, the first one was just to registered to be notified for the real registration? I don't know wtf is going on lol

whitev70r 04-19-2021 11:19 AM

Registration is the most inefficient process ...registration means absolutely nothing. Who designed the 2 step process? I registered a week ago and have not receive email for actual appointment yet. Talked to neighbour who registered and was confused as hell ... she thought now she can get an apt today for the vaccine.

Really silly and stupid question but why can't you register and book an appointment with one call or one visit to the website ... one. Is that too much to ask for?

So that’s the same thing my wife did. She registered on one site then she saw an ad about a different one so she clicked it and it was a legit govt. site but it was different than the one she registered first with..

How old are you? I was under the impression that even if you registered already they still only get back to you about an appointment when your age group is next in line.

yray 04-19-2021 11:37 AM

I think its to see how many of us are actually in the province and allowing for better allocation.

Just going by census data, alot of people might be out of country etc.

They were pretty clear.
Register when your age group is eligible to register, so that the system doesn't get overloaded by those that are way down the line.
They will contact you when your age group is eligible. Unless you're 55+, you aren't getting vaccinated yet. Thats all been communicated.

The email confirmation after you register also says:

Quote:

CRS, thank you for registering.

This is your first of three steps to get immunized against COVID-19.

Your registration confirmation number is: A-BCD123

Be sure to save this number.

It will make step two, booking your vaccination appointment, quick and easy.

We’ll contact you when it’s your turn to book a vaccination appointment.

To make sure your notification email doesn’t end up in a spam folder, add us to your address book.
My critique of the system in place would be that there should have been a verification system that tells those registering that they've already registered so that there aren't duplicate entries. This would also let people know that this registration and the age registration is the same thing.

Looks like the latest schedule to 'register' is the same process as this post from a few weeks ago quoted below.

Except back when I first shared it there was no instructions about age specific groups registering at any given time, just sounded like it was an open registration and you would be contacted once your group was up.

I THINK that is the case, the messaging from health authorities are just so confusing...

THIS ...

CivicBlues 04-19-2021 01:13 PM

Whelp, according to Hulk Horgan as a Vancouver resident I can go up and party it up in Whistler on a daytrip but I'll be ticketed if I get caught driving in Burnaby.

Great68 04-19-2021 01:17 PM

Random check stops now asking where people are going?
So police by the roadside are now the judge and jury on what constitutes a valid reason to travel?

Lol wut? You’re not just talking VI right

pastarocket 04-19-2021 01:19 PM

Horgan: "Hotels, tourism operators are following new orders, to not book any customers living outside of local areas"

Example, hotel in harrison hot springs not taking bookings for Burnaby residents.

Random audits, random roadside checks by all BC police to make sure people are not travelling outside of local community. for all major highways. Huge fine for non essential travel outside. new border signs on BC Alberta border. warning Albertans to stay home if here for non essential travel like vacation.

So, these are the tonnes of bricks that Horgan is going to use to deter non essential travel within BC and between provinces?? Hmmmm. :suspicious:

No, they just announced they'll be doing random check stops/road blocks asking where people are going.

JDMDreams 04-19-2021 01:51 PM

Wooooooo scary warning signs, but Cain and sons will say they aren't gonna try to enforce this cuz they got vis to give

westopher 04-19-2021 01:55 PM

“Oh fuck a sign, better go back to airdrie” - guy from Alberta that thinks covid is a hoax?
