it could be the previous battery was just defective. I've had that happen before on the sc430. popped one in, died under a year (switched to AGM) and it's been fine ever since.

went to Costco yesterday for the first time in a really long time and holy jeebus things were cheap! walked away with quite a few great deals and of course had to inhale a $1.50 hotdog with root beer to complete the experience. also bought me that damn $8 roasted chicken because why the fuck not at that price? lol

gonna be eating a bunch of chicken wraps for daaaaaays

SSM_DC5 11-19-2024 09:26 AM

Box like the tuxedo cakes? If yes, then I have. Taste like tiramisu, would buy again.

Not that one, incorrectly said box, but they call it scoop cake. It's always been sold out the last few times I've checked.

Sorry, now that you showed the pic, yes I've had that one. I just associated it with the tuxedo cakes cuz they're displayed together. It was hard to only have 1 scoop each sitting.

Went last week to Willingdon location. They had quite a few on the shelves. I didn't think twice. I bought the thing. Law of Costco, "Get it now!" think later.

Damn, it's good. I don't know how to describe it. I put some in glass Anchor Hocking containers and froze the rest. It's so sweet. I should have put them all in containers before freezing. It tastes like ice cream already, so it'll be interesting how they are thawed. Everything can be frozen, right? Nature's pause button, jbol.

I asked the bakery department if it's okay to freeze. They told me they can't make this stuff every day. It depends if the have the ingredients on hand. In any case, it is, indeed, hard to find. Go in the afternoon or evening and they is gone. The bakery department takes calls and can tell you if they are making it or not.

MG1 12-01-2024 09:15 AM

To add to the previous post, I called all week to see if they had them (both Burnaby locations) and got the same, "No we don't," so I gave up. I go in a couple of days later to get eggs and milk and there they were. I'm basically by myself, so this tub is going to last me quite some time. Freeze, thaw, freeze thaw, repeat............. can't be good, so me thinks I'll portion it out into individual portions. Should have done that from day one. Live and learn.

Can't be good for you, lol. Says the black kettle..........

Such devotion, though. Crossing over that bridge fighting all that traffic, only to find out they're sold out. At least there are a few Costcos you could go, once over the bridge.

Always call first. I have Costco on speed dial, jbol.

SSM_DC5 12-01-2024 11:11 AM

I volunteer to help you eat some tiramisu

I'm a pro, always go against the traffic. #northvanlife

as a side note, there's rumblings of a North Van Costco, supposedly at the Seymour Driving Range property.

Hondaracer 12-01-2024 06:34 PM

That would become my new location

I fucking hate that driving range, every time I hit my driver I can never follow my balk because it just goes up into the sky of the mountains. I find it almost impossible to track off the tee there

I hope not, as if the traffic around there isn't already effed up the nuts.

I live in North Burnaby, and I’ve found out that getting to North Van via Hastings and Cassiar is pretty fast. Depending on time of day/night, of course. Weeknights after 6:00 pm is best. Sometimes I need something from Canadian Tire or Mark’s and only the North Van Locations have it, it’s faster than going to Metrotown or Coquitlam. I used to go to the transfer station by the bridge often. But, things changed when the new Couitlam transfer station opened up. Anyway…………..

These?

https://cocowest.ca/2024/11/nonnis-t...ookies-review/

31 boxes in stock at the Brighton Avenue location. Probably gone by end of day...............

None at Willingdon, but on order.

Willingdon Costco (604) 435-6695

Hit 5 as soon as phone call goes through to get to their specific department menu. Hit 5 again immediately after that to get Customer Service. Bypass all that other crap. Saves a lot of time. At our age, every second counts.................... can't believe I just said that, jbol.

15 dollars for a two pack ?! It’s a steal !!! Now I can control fairy lights, string lights and soon the Xmas tree via voice or Google home app.

anyone having problems with these plugs? i bought 2 packs and each pack I used a plug for my xmas tree in the living room, and after a couple weeks with one and then couple days with the other, the remote stopped working. only way to control the plug was via the power button on it.

i didn't bother with the app as i don't want another one on my phone, just wanted to use the switch. disappointed i'm 0 for 2 on these, the wife said return 'em and don't get another :okay:

Hondaracer 12-09-2024 08:28 AM

I just plugged both mine in yesterday for my Christmas tree and outside lights

The remote is somewhat slow to respond but seems to work fine for both for now. Maybe the batteries are dead?

supafamous 12-09-2024 08:35 AM

Told my wife yesterday morning that I thought I had a $500 Costco in me and lo and behold I rang up a $670 bill that didn't include any steaks, chicken, pork or pre-made meals. It was an all food deal (with $160 of Uber gift cards) with no household goods too.

I still got it baby!

Mine seems fine. Go return it and grab another one. Maybe just a bad batch

batteries were fine b/c i tried the other plug in the pack to see if it's a remote issue and it worked...

i may try 1 more time, disapointing thus far though, for the price like you guys said it's amazing for what it is.

MG1 12-09-2024 06:51 PM

Fucking hell................ I go to Costco way too many times in a week. Anyway, every single time I go, the Tiramisu Scoop Cake is always in stock. I think those bastards lied to me. They said those things are not frozen. Fullshit! The ones I saw at the Brighton Avenue location looked like it was still frozen and cold as hell. Now that RS has made them so popular, they've upped their game, hee hee.............

Also, Capolla Prosciutto was on sale, so I bought some on Saturday. I buy Capolla Hot Baked Capocollo from my favourite deli, Banana Grove. I thought, what the hell, I'll try the Prosciutto. It was great. Went back on Sunday and bought two more (sale ended on Sunday). They're dated way into 2025. Dry cured ham, basically, with amazing texture. Thinly sliced with interleaving between the layers. Freshly sliced at the deli is the best way, but pull it from fridge whenever you have a craving........... nuff said.
