-definitely not Costco for potluck food.

Have you thought about going to No Frills? Affordable appetizers:

Any suggestions for prepared food from Costco that preferably doesn't need to be reheated?

Get the new / old garlic chicken legs !!!

Don't bring a veggie plate, or some shitty spinach dip.

You'll be hated by all.

CivicBlues 08-20-2025 04:38 PM

I just remember years ago I had a Halloween potluck and a guy brought in bags of McDonalds hamburgers and just wrote "Rat burgers" on the brown bag. You could do that :lol

Do a tray of bang me's cut up into smaller portions? I think one sandwich can be cut into 4-5 reasonable portions and you can do quite a lot for $50

everyone likes bucket of fried chicken even if it's cold.

Alternatively, i go to the closest surrey / brown place, eg/ daddy's grill and tell the owner you want to feed 10 people for $100. They are happy to go off the menu and just load you up with free rice salad and sauces etc...pita bread and throw in tons of mixings.
You just gotta talk to the boss

soemthign like this.

Hondaracer 08-21-2025 06:44 AM

All the Indian people in my office get off easy

They each toss down like $10 between 4-5 of them and get a shit load of samosas which are always a crowd fave.

Then on the flip wide some women are making like fucking Flans and shit which is just labour and time lol..

there's a really good lebanese donair shop next to the superstore on schoolhouse in coquitlam.
that's one of my go to places for parties, they sell falafels by the half and full dozens and they are the best falafels ever... light and fluffy yet substantial.
with some tahini sauce it's pretty well received when i bring them.

blkgsr 08-21-2025 09:21 AM

mm falafels

is this in the same building as the superstore? or somewhere else in the area?

unit 08-21-2025 09:42 AM

yup right on the right of superstore in the corner!

Gumby 08-21-2025 12:47 PM

Thanks for all the suggestions. I don't have to feed everybody so I'll just bring some sushi rolls from a nearby Jap restaurant.

That app and others like it were life savers when I was in Japan last year. Thought I'd never use it again, but just this morning, I had eggs that were expiring. Lots of it, so I decided to make some "tamagomaki." A few months ago (maybe longer), Oomomo in Lougheed Mall was closing and had their "out of here," clearance sale. Came across a Made in Japan square pan for making the eggs. Looked really cool. I got it, because I could. There were no engrish instructions whatsoever on the box or inside. The surface had a layer of that rust prevention coating. I know how that works, but wanted to make sure I was doing it right. Well, me and instructions never play together in harmony.............

I read the coating was safe to use. I ended up going back to my Made in Korea non stick egg pan. God I love that thing.

Another gadget that didn't work out, hee hee. I'll wait for my daughter to come visit me and have her season it or whatever it's called.

If those hoodies were zip up hoodies, I'd be all over it.

You can order one of those big croissant sandwich platters. Those are pretty good and easy for a potluck
