Get out of town…….. they had root beer?????

Get an ice cream and make a root beer float is what I’d do.

I have much better things to remember, like your mom. Wait…………… how old are you?

RabidRat 08-25-2025 09:14 PM

:lol damn

But seriously though. I am very upset that root beer has been taken away. Especially how they print "CAFFEINE FREE" on the dispenser, even though I had never suspected root beer should have caffeine in the first place.

Whytf can't they give us Barq's?!

btw, been going to costco for steaks and they are significantly thinner. After the grill, i htought.. why do these look like HK style steak house 5 min steaks.

Where the the good old honking day sof thick slab.

I guess it's cause it's so expensive. You still get 4 pieces at $80 bucks, but if they are thick slab the stick shock at $150 for 4 slabs would deter others away.

(Top Sirloin Grilling Steak were still thick; rib steak - 8 pieces, but very thin.. is it just me?)

Costco steaks are all mechanically tenderized, would have avoided them regardless of thickness.

You sure about that? I only ask because in the past I remember the label mentioning that, but now they don't say that anymore on the label.

A few weeks ago we had 4 2-inch think filet mignons, maybe 7oz each, for $75 and they were great.

I haven't shopped for meat at costco recently maybe they reversed that policy. if so that's great news.

That said, what I do remember is that the name doesnt say 'mechanically tenderized' big in all caps, but there is a big paragraph that explains the process and the recommended minimum cooking temp on the label.

Everyone needs a plug that does orders for restaurants.

We have a friend who handles the ordering for Grand Villa.

I'm able to get the following from him:

4 x 12oz NY Striploins AAA
1x Bone-in Ribeye

All steaks are thick and nicely marbled, vacuum sealed, for $50.

My freezer is now full of steaks :lol

blkgsr 08-27-2025 06:15 AM

RS group buy?

sonick 08-27-2025 06:36 AM

In for Mike's thick meat.

68style 08-27-2025 07:41 AM

Mike: everyone needs a hookup for ordering meat

Also Mike: doesn’t offer hookup :lol

mikemhg 08-27-2025 10:40 AM

:lol

I'll offer the hookup, I had a few friends order a few packages that they're getting tomorrow.

When I grab them I'll inquire if I can offer this outside our group, I just don't want to be an errand boy with this stuff.

yray 08-27-2025 12:09 PM

just host a steak meat, have people pay in advanced

meet up at bcit parking lot :lol

mikemhg 08-27-2025 12:27 PM

^Not a bad idea actually. Alright I'll know more tomorrow :lol

Don't think this is a place run by indigenous folks, but I've always thought this was the go-to places for fresh fish:

isnt this like a historic sockeye year? just go into fb marketplace and type sockeye, lots of people will be selling on there soon enough.
once you find someone that you like buying from just save their number and buy from them every year.
a long time ago i used to buy from a guy that was usually around $15 for a whole fish

spoon.ek9 08-27-2025 03:02 PM

Maybe I'm just old and closed-minded but I still don't like the idea of buying food off of people on FB marketplace lol. Who the hell knows how they've handled this food before you buy it.

Badhobz 08-27-2025 03:53 PM

Well they probably touched their assholes. But if it’s 15 bucks a pop, I’d risk it

spoon.ek9 08-27-2025 04:33 PM

In that case, I've got some fish I'd love to sell you. A bit brown but still good
