spoon.ek9 10-14-2025 09:14 AM

Nov 14 is a Friday. Some of us have to physically be at work :lol

Badhobz 10-14-2025 10:22 AM

^work!? thats beneath us. Show up at 7:30pm, 1 hour to shop together holding hands and shit ... i wonder if they'll have a food court.

spoon.ek9 10-14-2025 10:37 AM

7:30 I could make it actually. If there's a food court that means hot dog dinner lol.

noclue 10-14-2025 10:52 AM

Business costcos dont have food court and only open business hours I think. Judging from the ones I’ve been to

Badhobz 10-14-2025 11:32 AM

that's trash! fuck that then. no meat now :(

bcrdukes 10-14-2025 11:54 AM

Correct. No food court at the business centers here in Ontario as well.

I'm having trouble holding back my disgust at the fact that you go there so early.

I can't bring myself to burst through the entrance any earlier than 8:29pm.

Then shop the aisles literally until they close each one.

I don't move until somebody speaks "sir. we're closing." kindly but firmly in my ear.

spoon.ek9 10-14-2025 01:22 PM

don't think i've ever been sigged before lol. it only took 18 years of posting on this forum!

When I worked retail, we hated people like you lol.

He's like the dude that comes into a restaurant 10 mins before last call and orders an appy and steak, maybe a dessert too just to be extra annoying.

The guys already have the line cleaned up and shit packed away only to yell a big fuck you to the server ringing that damn order in.

spoon.ek9 10-14-2025 08:07 PM

I was assistant supervisor and would announce over head 30 mins before closing. Then I would sweep the entire store to tell people directly that we're closing soon. Anyone who didn't get the damn message I would stay in their line of sight until they got tired of me. It was usually the most effective way to tell them to go the fuck away. We just want to go home lol.

i always go to costco between 745-8. when we leave at like 820ish there are still tons of cars coming in lol

noclue 10-15-2025 08:21 AM

I’d like to work the refund desk for a day and chew people out and deny their refunds for shit like a 3/4 eaten pumpkin pie “it tastes funny”

Why is costco in Canada so busy compared to the US? I’ve been to costco in asian heavy areas (San Jose, Irvine) and it’s nowhere as busy as Richmond.

Badhobz 10-15-2025 08:23 AM

all the bitches i see at the refund counter look like they are dead on the inside. Literally have worse PTSD than some guys who went to actual combat.

The dispondent attitude, the 10000 mile stare, the faceless expressions... my god what have i done to these people.. Oh im returning this 1 bottle of watermelon juice, i drank the other 5 because.... reasons.

I had a similar experience also in NorCal and SoCal. Same for Sam's Club.

Perhaps the density in Richmond makes it super busy. Then again, my experience with any Lower Mainland Costco is all the same - busy, packed, and a landmine in itself. :heckno:

i would definitely agree that its the worst section to work at..
at least those who are stocking shelves or doing cash don't have to really talk to people much.
doing returns means you have to listen to a bunch of BS all day, and the line literally never ends.

Are you going at the same times you would in Richmond?

Kirkland, South Seattle, SF costco have been a zoo for me

Badhobz 10-15-2025 09:01 AM

i dun know, i only go to the one downtown and the one in richmond... and only during work hours because fuck you, pay me.

The one in richmond is staffed by flips and a few east indian women. they all seem ravaged by the horde of cheap chinese that return shit nonsensically every day. Like when i brought back my super heavy gaming PC, they asked me what was wrong with it, i said it was noisy, and they were like uhhhhh okay. then they had to lift this beast out of the box, and go through and check all the serial numbers to make sure i didnt swap the 5080 for a 2080. My god, what a bullshit job. That comp was at least 20+ lbs, and if they drop it, BYE BYE 5k PC. Im sure i added to that woman's suicide "reasons" list that day.

It's the same in the GTA. It's awful here, it takes 10-15 minutes of wading through people to get to the milk section, it's a crying outrage.

Not even on the worst day at the worst time were the california Costcos like this.

Must the catchment areas are too large.

At least there's a new T&T going up at Bayview & Sheppard!!! Yay!

Which Costco are you going to? I find the one in Markham gets pretty wild like Richmond. The one in Newmarket gets pretty wild too. That parking lot is a freakin' zoo!
