SkinnyPupp 05-29-2023 06:38 PM

Vegas the 8th team to make it to the finals multiple times in their first 6 seasons, so it's actually not that rare

Haven't really been interested in the playoffs but with the potential of seeing some drama like a reverse sweep... now this is interesting.

there's also the possibility of them losing the game and people thinking maybe they're better off without him/stripping him of the captaincy :lol

I guess we'll find out!

And the winner is spoon.ek9

spoon.ek9 05-29-2023 06:51 PM

ugly, ugly 6-0 loss. yikes.

AzNightmare 05-29-2023 07:47 PM

Welp... back to not giving a shit about the playoffs again.

I hope Florida wins though. Still not a fan of a young team winning the cup, while also just never being a bad team since inception.

If anyone cares, musical chairs. Treliving is now GM of the Leafs. Dubas ... got a promotion and is Penguins President of Hockey Operations. Things change quickly:

but what about his family?

68style 06-01-2023 11:09 AM

I mean, to be fair, Brendan Shanahan fucked him up the ass so he has a fire lit under him I think. That's gonna make you un-sad pretty fast when you're a competitive guy.

I bet his wife experienced like 3 days of him moping around at home and told him to GTFO lol

murd0c 06-01-2023 12:00 PM

and he also said he didn't want to be a GM for another team. Guess what? He's not the GM he's president and now has the same power that Shanahan had.. What he said was just part of the game, he couldn't say what he really thought.

From his interview ...
“I definitely don’t have it in me to go anywhere else. So, it'll either be here, or it'll be taking time to recalibrate, reflect on the seasons here,” Dubas said Monday. “But you won't see me next week pop up elsewhere. I can’t put them through that after this year.”

So not exactly that he won't be GM for another team but that he couldn't put his family through this. But I hear previous poster, he felt shafted by Shanny and now they are both on the same level. It's his perogative, he's young, bright, and sought after. I'm sure he got a raise and a promotion as Prez.

But I wonder if now the shoe is on the other foot, if he and his new GM will be in conflict and if Dubas the Prez will hold final veto rights on trades.

Hope the Penguins are the team that gets to benefit from the yearly tradition of the Laffs being eliminated in humiliating fashion EleGiggle

Pens are not in good shape going forward... all their core is super old and they don't have much on the young up and comer front.

Also their goaltending is seriously bad.

True but most likely they just need to make it to the playoffs and face the Laffs in round 1 KEKW

Why's there such a long break before the finals start?
Feels like any momentum is gone.

The road to the championship is supposed to be a grind.
Feels like the season has ended already.

Staal with the short handed goal!

Love the way the Panthers play. If this was at home they would have blown the roof off the building

Hondaracer 06-03-2023 05:17 PM

Fuck legit the one person that can send Maclean into a spin is Bettman (maybe Bieksa now) He’s a lawyer through and through. Gotta respect a guy who can hold a position like this this long and have remained so professional

SkinnyPupp 06-03-2023 05:24 PM

"Tic tac t-OH WHAT A STOP! HOW DID THAT NOT GO IN?!?!"

Great call by Cuthbert, perfect for that level of save

SkinnyPupp 06-03-2023 06:06 PM

Aidin Hill getting whacked, finally one goes in

It's cool that Duclair got it, after getting hurt on the blocked shot which led to the Vegas goal

This was apparent in game 1.

SkinnyPupp 06-05-2023 04:37 PM

Panthers no longer look like The Team of Destiny

Hondaracer 06-05-2023 05:21 PM

On the radio a few hosts were talking about how Vegas was a better team top to bottom and overall a far superior team to the panthers

I’ve watched a lot of the playoffs and never really got that feeling. Thought this series could be a game 7 coin flip but the way this is looking it could be a sweep
