If you can’t win those close 2-1 games in the playoffs, you’re not gonna win the cup.

SkinnyPupp 05-14-2023 08:30 PM

Is it just me or have McDavid and Draisaitl barely touched the puck in this period?

Edit: Well there he was.. finally. Close one too

Somehow every single icing is being waved off

whitev70r 05-14-2023 08:31 PM

Has anyone heard of Adin Hill, the G of Vegas? Prob not ... sometimes you just need a horseshoe up your arse in terms of luck.

SkinnyPupp 05-14-2023 08:37 PM

Sadge

spoon.ek9 05-14-2023 08:39 PM

GG Oilers

whitev70r 05-14-2023 08:41 PM

Bettman is laughing ... both Canadian teams lost in round 2.

K ... Vegas vs. Seattle for the Conference final? The last 2 expansion teams of the NHL.

Hondaracer 05-14-2023 08:41 PM

Say what you want about the Canucks, the leafs and oilers are both teams who got multiple 1st overall picks (leafs 1, but the oilers had what, 4 in a span of 7 years?) spending right to the cap, numerous GM and coaching changes etc. and can’t even get a sniff of the conference finals

It’s much harder than you’d think with a lot luck. This idea of a “full rebuild” doesn’t get you any closer than a carolina or Vegas.

westopher 05-14-2023 08:49 PM

Oilers were in the conference finals last year man.

SkinnyPupp 05-14-2023 08:54 PM

They don't need to rebuild lol, they just need to tweak. They have the player to build everything around, they just need the right combo and a damn goalie. Maybe a coaching change, I don't know.

It took Ovie a long time to win it all, and he's still a legend.

westopher 05-14-2023 09:13 PM

I think woodcroft is an awesome coach. I mean, they were still only 2 wins away from the conference final, and without some stupid plays and mediocre goaltending they could be there. Skinner is a rookie, and he was awesome for a ton of the season. As he gets experience he will get better. Timing just needs to line up, because they have 2 years before it's no chance anymore. Nurse is a boat anchor. The NHL is wild. So many teams now, and a blatant bias to markets that can make the money. Is it even possible for a Canadian team to ever win again? I just need to put my skates on and go play so I can stop fucking watching, because odds are truly stacked against us, whatever team we cheer for.

SkinnyPupp 05-14-2023 09:23 PM

Bad defense and bad PK plus a ton of really dumb penalties which is extra bad when the PK is bad

McCleod and Yamamoto are incredibly soft and weak. They just get bullied whenever they're out there

bobbinka 05-14-2023 09:29 PM

All the teams I wanted eliminated are gone, now i don't care what happens.

Guess I wouldn't mind if Luongo got a ring, but Tkachuk is so hard to cheer for.

SkinnyPupp 05-14-2023 09:35 PM

Still cheering for the Kraken

Don't care about the Panthers

Don't care about the Whalers or Hurricanes or whatever

Don't care about the Golden Knights

Don't care about the Stars (North Stars were my favourite team at one point though, as were the Nordiques, so... ugh)

Gumby 05-14-2023 09:54 PM

I just don’t want a city that never gets snow to win the cup for ice hockey (I.e. Vegas, Florida)

SkinnyPupp 05-14-2023 10:04 PM

It snowed in Vegas one time I was there in January LUL

AzNightmare 05-15-2023 12:12 AM

heh, I guess I'm the only one that actually doesn't have any fucks to give if it's not the Canucks. Really couldn't care about the Canadian team winning or not. Over 50% of NHL players are Canadians.

In fact, I'm kind of hoping for a non hockey team to win it all, just so that no one actually cares. So in a way, it's like nothing ever happened. Like that saying about the tree that falls but no one hears it, etc.

Yeah... sorry, if Canucks can't have good things, I want no one else to. Is that too selfish of me? haha.

Yeah, same here. If it is not the Canucks or at least another Canadian team in the playoffs, my interest in watching games on TV is zero.

Oh, Bettman can also fuck himself too. LUL

I'll always cheer for a Canadian team if the Canucks aren't in it. I hate these hot weather teams like Vegas and Florida because they're simply transplant teams in which most of their fans are expat Canadians or some type of transient fan anyways.

At this point I only want to see the Kraken win it all.

murd0c 05-15-2023 12:30 PM

For me I want the Panthers to win it all.. Why do you ask? Because Bobby Lu is part of management and if they win the cup he finally gets his ring

68style 05-15-2023 12:33 PM

He fucked our cap up even more than it already was to become part of that mgmt team so he can eat my ass lol

He signed a contract with us that benefited both sides. It's not his fault the league stuck us with a retroactive penalty and it's not his fault Torts ran him out of town. Him retiring also meant he wasn't taking advantage of the LTIR loop hole. He did everything right. He's like the one that got away and now it hurts to see him do well, while it's only fallen apart for us.

Razor Ramon HG 05-15-2023 01:31 PM

How can anyone hate Strombone1

68style 05-15-2023 01:36 PM

I dunno, yah he has some funny quips on twitter big woop... where was that personality when he was here? Just acting butt-hurt about stuff (Torts ran him out of town not playing him in the winter classic when he was sucking ass? Please...) and getting abrasive with media... honestly seemed like a lot of ego there with his wife and the whole captaincy thing.

I found it tiring, and at the end of the day he couldn't get the job done and was outplayed by Tim Thomas.

People always remember people more positively after they're gone, it's nostalgia. When he was here, it wasn't super amazing. He had some good seasons but that's about it.

Wow, who knew people change over 10 years.

Yea, it's Luongo's fault that the Canucks couldn't score goals in that series.

Are we even talking about the same HHOF goalie that played his best years for the Canucks? I don't think it's other people that have problems remembering.

To win you just not need to be a Canuck. LOL.
