Wow gaudreau screws the flames and chooses free agency…

68style 07-12-2022 08:23 PM

He’s only in the NHL cuz they took a flyer on him… great way to say thanks… they were offering him $10x8 too apparently

bobbinka 07-12-2022 08:28 PM

crazy, wonder where he's gonna go.

just thinking about how much will the flames have to overpay to get a player to replace him makes me happy

68style 07-12-2022 08:32 PM

Sources say New Jersey, he has a house there and his wife is from around there as well as parts of both of their families.

I don’t get why New Jersey is such a “hot ticket” destination for everyone these days lol… super small forward group already too. No goalie, shitty D… and apparently Jesper Bratt and management aren’t on the same page either.

whitev70r 07-12-2022 09:24 PM

^ I thought New Jersey is like a shithole of a city to live in ... I guess it's a nice place to get paid and just play out the rest of your career? Goudreau must have 0 aspirations for winning ... cuz Flames are a relatively solid team. And Calgary made a real solid offer.

RCubed 07-12-2022 10:28 PM

Kane signs with EDM. 4 x $5.125

Jersey is not a bad team to play for in terms of lifestyle; you can live in NYC. It's a 30 minute drive to the arena from Manhattan (with traffic probably 2 hours lol... but you know what I mean, it's close)

Or live in the burbs where it can be quite nice if you want that quiet married life.

That's a pretty good contract for the Oilers. Impressed with Holland for getting that done. Projection was like in the area of $7M per. Has Kane finally grown up?

Let the free agent frenzy begin!

Pretty questionable and risky moves in my opinion from the Laffs and Coilers to improve their goaltending.

Matt Murray has been injured for most of last season. He had not shown any improvement in his game when he did play for the Senators.

Then you have Campbell. Is Mr. Soup the answer to goaltending for the Oilers?

Claude Giroux signing with Ottawa.

Terms as per Elliotte Freedman's source were three years with a $6.5 million AAV.

Umm, New Jersey's a state not a city.

The Devils play in Prudential Center, Newark which is just a 20 min drive from Manhattan. And if you don't want to live the city life you have a ton of live in a fancy house in the suburbs. Some of the wealthiest suburbs in the US are in New Jersey. I mean it's right next to all that New York money eh?

68style 07-13-2022 08:44 AM

Yah there's some leftover stuff from the 80's/90's about how Jersey is such a shithole blah blah I don't think it was ever true, some areas are bad like any state but that whole thing with dirty water and whatever else seems very undeserved.

Jersey Shore the show did not help the image either.

When I said it sucks I was referring solely to the team. They do suck... see if Johnny Hockey actually does sign there or not.

Any bets the way this has been handled on his future reception in Calgary? Might be a mix of cheers and boos. He kinda did Calgary dirty.

NJ also has a lot of young talent with potential. Could be a good team with the right missing pieces

Honestly didn't know who the fuck this guy was had to look him up. This is a Benning type deal hope I'm wrong.

68style 07-13-2022 09:10 AM

He's fastttttt... inconsitent offence. We were supposed to trade for him a couple different times now. Good pickup player wise, but let's see what the numbers were?? edit: 4.75 x 4... that's a bit ouch in my opinion.

I think this must mean Garland is going.

Another defenceman for the Canucks:

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has agreed to terms with defenceman Wyatt Kalynuk on a one-year, two-way contract.

Kalynuk, 25, played the majority of last season with the Chicago Blackhawks' AHL affiliate Rockford IceHogs, recording 27 points (7-20-27) and 55 penalty minutes in 52 games played to rank second among defencemen in team scoring.

Kalynuk is a Canuck haha.
