^ Who? |
I remember when this kid was drafted by us. Made the brown community proud. |
Minor news but Chiasson was spotted practicing with some Canucks. He's still a UFA at this point. Maybe he's hoping for another PTO with us. I honestly thought he did a decent job considering how little he was being paid last season SeemsGood |

Millers back baby! 8x7! |
Oh shitttt! |
So surprised! After Kadri said he took less money and being a shittier player I thought Miller was going for 9aav for sure... Going to take some interesting math to get Horvat back after this season lol Super impressed they managed to do it... and not the worst term in the world... everone will say the back 2-3 years of the contract might look not so good but that is just the NHL of today for every single team. Win now, figure out the math later. |
Pleasantly surprised with the JT contract |
They have to trade Garland or Pearson. I prefer Pearson. Way too much in terms of what he can offer. |
It's okay for this season, Miller is still on his 5.5 this year Only 2.5 increase next year. They are betting heavily on the cap going up. Dickinson is very, very expendable at 2.65M... Pearson too. That said, we are dealing with 2.4M of buyout penalties (Holtby and Virtanen) that will be gone after this season... I think we will be okay! Just need to move someone if Horvat is sticking around. Ferland is also finally fucking done after this season too... no more of that 3.5M LTIR recapture voodoo. |
Rick Dhaliwal of CHEK, mentions a full no-trade clause in the first four years of the deal and a modified NTC in years five, six, and seven. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
7x8M is exactly what I was hoping JT and the Canucks would compromise on. Real happy about this signing  Time to buy a JT jersey! :D |
Wow, just heard about the news now. I thought Canucks were going to trade him. I'm happy with this too. Contract is not bad. |
$8m for what Miller brings to the table is worth it and also well deserved for him. Term is a bit long but I can live with it. Especially seeing what Kadri got. |
I think this is basically as good as it gets for a Canadian team when you look at comparables like Johnny T etc. You kind of have to give players like this contracts like this and just hope it leads to a cup. It’s virtually impossible to build a team like Tampa in Canada, you have to pay these players these contracts that hover around market value. Miler is a beast and I’ve loved the way he’s played ever since he got here, happy he’s gonna be around for a while |
At least Miller didn't pull a Tkachuk ... I'm not re-signing here. |
^ thanked for using the correct re-sign instead of resign |
there's way too many grown ass adults out there that don't know the difference between re-sign and resign |
okay, this is pretty damn good. if we need to trade him in years 5 or 6, us paying the signing bonus first would make him more attractable for teams cash strapped while helping them reach cap floor. and if he goes on LTIR in year 7, he'll get his full salary, but no NHL team will have to pay him. so even if he doesn't perform in the back half of the contract, it's tradeable. |

I remember way back, probably over 10 years ago, I personally got called out right here on RS that it's: should/could/would have NOT should/could/would of My English improved because of RS, and English is not even my second language. But there's just so much improvement to be found when you pick up bad habits while growing up with no one to correct it, especially in writing. |
