And there’s still the Patrick Kane trade to look forward to, |
^ And Jonathan Toews. |
Chicago is positioning themselves to land Bedard in 2023 it seems. I don’t blame them, really. The timing works out for them nicely and they saw what Toews and Kane brought the organization. If I were running the Kraken I’d be doing the same tbh. Land Wright then Bedard and you’re golden for 5-10 years. Even if you have to trade one the return should fill whatever gap(s) you need to fill. If the Canucks didn’t have such a solid, young core I’d be on team tank as well. |
The Official 2022/2023 Canucks & NHL Thread -found out some more news about the possible rationale behind Gaudreau’s decision to sign with Columbus. Apparently, Johnny’s wife is a pediatric nurse. Columbus, Ohio has one of the best pediatric hospitals in the US. -quite likely that Gaudreau chose Columbus because he took his wife’s career into consideration. Some NHL players do take family into consideration besides the team’s competitive level when they decide on which team that they want to play for as free agents. Mind you these comments are coming from a guy who posted comments about a Daily Shit article about Gaudreau. https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/gaud...W32m&fs=e&s=cl Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Well congrats to his wife if she still cares about upgrading her career when her husband will have made well over $100 million by the time his career is over LOL |
Yes she is a nurse, but now married and expecting their first kid. Doubt she will need to work again. She full time mom although I mean technically they can also afford a nanny and couple maids to do chores while she goes shopping lol. |
You guys think he's gonna hear the boo birds his first time back in Calgary? He kinda fucked em, but he's also been a pretty likeable guy. I think the reaction will be very mixed. |
If this is the case, I applaud Johnny G for supporting his wife's career ambitions. Pediatric nurse is a very important role in healthcare ... dare I say, much more important than an NHL hockey player. If you ever have a kid sick in a Children's hospital ... tell me which of the Goudreau would you appreciate more. It's not always about the $$. |
The Official 2022/2023 Canucks & NHL Thread Honestly, I think that Gaudreau helped the Canucks indirectly by signing with the Blue Jackets. I think that Jersey and the Islanders showed interest in signing him. Gaudreau is from NJ. He had a chance to live closer to his home town. You would think that Jersey and the Islanders GMs would continue to show interest in trading for Miller now that one of the bigger name players in free agency signed with Columbus. The list of available free agent forwards is smaller now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Miller to NJ for both Hughes. Reunite the 3 brothers LUL |
Calgary feeling the burn, and soon it will be Toronto turn Will Austin sign with Toronto again or also jump ship? |
Matthews is good till the end of 23-24 same as Nylander... Marner and Tavares the year after that. If Toronto hasn't won by then, they are sunk. |
Don't forget that Matthew Tkachuk is going to be leaving Calgary as well by the sounds of things. All I know is I fricken love it how Calgary is getting roasted like this. |
Jersey signs Palat. Five year deal for 30 million. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...-30m-contract/ |
The Athletic did an interview with Gaudreau, he listed some of his reasons: Spoiler! |
I'm telling you guys... Gaudreau & Gudbranson BrokeBack |

Surprised there's been 0 buzz around Klingberg... |
Klingberg has been sinking like a stone in the ocean... not even remotely the same d-man anyone was watching from 2015-2018 offensively... and on a playoff worthy team last year in Dallas he was -28 defensively? Ugly. Whoever gets him is going to overpay and regret it bigtime. |
Is Kadri the real deal? He hit his peak 6 years ago, then was on the downward spiral for quite some time, then suddenly exploded to above pt/g player. Late bloomer? Contract year? |
Kadri is super risky, he's never even been close to a PPG player before in his career and suddenly this year he was quite a bit over... His shooting percentage through his career has been all over the place too... bouncing back and forth between 6% and 13% that's a huge spread. He got a lot more assists this past year than ever before... he might be able to replicate this another year or 2... but regress back to a .75ppg guy pretty quick |
D-man Wolanin joins the team on a two way contract. https://www.nhl.com/canucks/news/can...W32m&fs=e&s=cl Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
klimovich, wow |
Good on Gaudreau. He was probably sick of being in Calgary. |
Still no takers on Kadri? |
