Truly the end of an era.

whitev70r 04-12-2023 07:21 PM

Yah, the Pens had a good chance right up till the 2nd last game .. 16 freaking yrs ... that's incredible actually.

spoon.ek9 04-12-2023 08:35 PM

they freaking lost to chicago lol..

SkinnyPupp 04-12-2023 08:53 PM

16 seasons jesus christ

whitev70r 04-12-2023 09:51 PM

Apparently, the current record streak for making it into the playoffs is 6 yrs held by Boston and drum roll pleeze ..... Toronto :lol. I guess exiting first round still counts as making it into the playoffs.

The Canucks have only made the playoffs 28 times in 52 years... but Crosby been 16 years in a row. No sure whether to laugh or cry.

blkgsr 04-13-2023 06:02 AM

that's unreal

i wonder what the league record is, if not that obviously

mb_ 04-13-2023 06:27 AM

Holy shit I didn't realize Crosby and the Pens never missed a single playoff since he came into the league... for some reason I thought they missed one in the mid 2010's

Tim Budong 04-13-2023 07:54 AM

Jonathan Toews plays his last game as a Blackhawk. Dude was an exceptional hockey player.

68style 04-13-2023 10:06 AM

Probably gonna retire... if this was 2 years ago, I'd be saying the game will miss him...

But fuck him for not standing up and taking blame for his part in the Kyle Beach abuse continuing unabated.

SkinnyPupp 04-13-2023 06:17 PM

102 for Petey!

Jesus christ do the Coyotes SUCK

SkinnyPupp 04-13-2023 06:34 PM

As bad as the Coyotes are, their goalie is even worse

Edit: Ah he was a last minute replacement, fair enough

Without looking I know for sure in my mind it felt like the Red Wings in the 90s and 2000s were not only always making the playoffs but also good. Also the Blues always felt like a team that made it though not necessarily elite.

I did look after and the record is 29 years by the Bruins followed by the Blackhawks with 28 both streaks ended in the mid 90s.

That said my memory was right, the Wings made it 25 years which ended just 8 years ago and the Blues also made it 25 years which ended in 2003 when we came back on them down 3-1

Hondaracer 04-13-2023 08:16 PM

Fuck Luke Hughes scores his first NHL goal with the devils assisted by his brother and it was an all-star calibre goal lol

SkinnyPupp 04-13-2023 08:33 PM

Garbage game but nice for Garland to get a hatty in OT for the win!

SkinnyPupp 04-13-2023 08:35 PM

Nice seg at the end to send off Cheech FeelsBadMan

teggy604 04-13-2023 08:57 PM

Looks like Bo and the NYI are heading to playoffs after all.

SkinnyPupp 04-13-2023 11:43 PM

MarkyMark 04-14-2023 05:26 AM

Well in his defence, he apologized for his comments. Basically said "I didn't mean any disrespect to the fans of Vancouver or my teammates or the city of Vancouver at all. It wasn't directed at them." So if you read between the lines, sounds like it was directed at the organization... :)

Yup. Saw his interview. He included everyone, but didn't include the Canucks management/organization in his apology. It will be interesting to see how the fans react when he comes back next season with the Isles.
