Shitty Canucks are back, and STILL WINNING :alonehappy:

JT's shootout goal was cool as fuck

AzNightmare 03-18-2023 10:08 PM

Never seen a guy deke inside the blue paint... Incredible patience...

As it turns out, I was correct! Kings feed didn't make any mention of it.

bobbinka 03-19-2023 12:29 PM

Apparently that was the first win of the season when held to 2 goals or less.

spoon.ek9 03-19-2023 12:51 PM

Yeah I saw that stat too. It's not surprising at all since we've only been able to win when we out score our defensive issues lol. That's been true for quite a few seasons now; difference being we can actually score in recent years.

side note: love that Reimer's name is in rainbow colours :lol

AzNightmare 03-19-2023 10:40 PM

hahaha Canucks 8-2-0 in their Last 10. One of the hottest teams in the league right now.

SkinnyPupp 03-20-2023 02:12 AM

The core of Petey/JT/Demko/Hughes/Koozer is Stanley Cup worthy?

bobbinka 03-20-2023 07:20 AM

Might need a Bedard

MarkyMark 03-20-2023 07:24 AM

Classic Canucks, go on March heater and have everyone questioning whether this team has what it takes again.

Spoiler alert, they still blow and they'll blow next year too. I'm sure our 12th pick we get this year will make all the difference though :jiggy:

whitev70r 03-20-2023 08:15 AM

Always good to know that you're the best of the non-playoff teams in the league.

mikemhg 03-20-2023 10:16 AM

Keep in mind we're playing some garbage teams now, Anaheim is a joke :lol

Goes to show though that Bo Horvat just wasn't that guy, and to be honest I was never a big fan of his.

teggy604 03-20-2023 11:45 AM

Horvat was drafted same year as MacKinnon. Pettersson was drafted same year as Makar. MacKinnon and Makar both have a cup. While Pettersson and Horvat can't even get into playoff hockey. Trevor Linden was drafted second overall, got us into Cup finals. Sedins was drafted 2/3rd overall, got us to cup finals.

bobbinka 03-20-2023 11:52 AM

They were saying how the locker room was quiet and guys didn't talk before, now Toch wants guys to speak up. Need guys like Bieksa/Kes/Burr. The culture in the room has definitely changed.

Ok?

teggy604 03-20-2023 05:16 PM

Just saying the times Canucks managed to pick in the top 3 they were successful. Instead of this retool mentality thinking they will be a contender. Do we build around EP40? Is he really that good?

Hondaracer 03-20-2023 07:19 PM

The general consensus around the league from analysts seem to feel like he’s a top 10 player

correlation =/= causation

whitev70r 03-20-2023 09:31 PM

LA Kings 8 - Calgary Flames 2 :lol

Strange or poetic that both Calgary and Florida are both outside looking in after all the trades and hoopla. Johnny hockey in Columbus looking forward to the possibility of play with Bedard. Oh Hockey gods, don't let Columbus win the draft lottery!

At this point, he's a top 5 centre. Bedard MIGHT be better than him, but it's unlikely anyone else from this draft year will. Then you have Hughes, who is already a top 10 D and it will be hard for another d from this draft (or a future draft) to be better. Then we have a true #1 in demko. Rebuilding and trading these guys away was always dumb. JB gave us 2 top 10 players in their position. He rushed the rebuild, but the core is still there.

Where are Patrick Stefan, Nail Yakupov, and Rick Dipietro's stanley cup rings?

AzNightmare 03-21-2023 12:29 AM

The draft this year is supposedly deep. I don't know how that translates to how many players will be Pettersson or Hughes caliber within the first round, or what kind of talent will still be available after top 10.

But drafting is sometimes a crap shoot, so I kind of get it why management is reluctant in trading away established proven players in hopes of refilling those same roles by chance. You could get another Pettersson (we did!), or another JV or OJ... and those were relatively early picks.

Where's McDavid's cups?

whitev70r 03-21-2023 05:54 AM

Fanatics will become the NHL's official on-ice uniform outfitter in 2024-25, taking the next step as a performance brand and longtime NHL partner in a 10-year agreement announced Tuesday.

Internet commentary is all suggesting that the hardcore fans will not buy those garbage Fanatics jerseys. I wonder how things will play out? Will jersey sales really tank for the league?
