That seems crazy to me - I'll go on a vacation doing 15-20k steps/day, eat like a pig and gain 3lbs max (and lose it in 3-4 days after).

I lost 5 lbs during my vacation to East Asia and I ate pretty well.

You guys must be eating 4-5K calories a day plus booze.

I will reiterate there is no such thing as out working a bad diet. I averaged 20k steps in Japan but the calories were so high every day it didn't matter one bit.

im sure it did actually help to offset your weight gain quite a bit lol.
without those 20k steps a day you probably would have had a few extra lbs at the end of the trip

The extra beer + chips doesn't help. I favour extra fatty / saltier foods too.


Gain 10+ lbs over 2 weeks seems unreasonable. It's excessive for the amount of steps we got in daily. I'm way taller and would burn more calories anyways. I'm not ordering 2 entrees either.

I noticed my TDEE dropped significantly between 25-29. My last cut was around 1,800 - 2,100 calories + activity 7 days a week.

9 kgs(20 pounds) gone. 600-700 kms of rowing, and who knows how many tonnes of kettle bell. diet was only slightly modified. i still have 13 kg(almost 30 pounds) to go, ugh.

How much are you rowing daily? And at what pace? Are you rowing by distance or time?

every other day, 6kms at about 21 spm. its about 25 minutes, then i stretch afterwards for about 10.

i've been doing it religiously since the spring, but the weight loss has only been mostly coming off in the back half of that time.
