Hell yeah! :clap::clap::clap:

500 f4 ?!?!! Holy shit balls. R5 ?!?!! Crikey !!!

What is that a like 30k combo ?!?!! R5 is 9k out the box. Giant penis lens 20k minimum

Now, the question is, who on RevScene does micro photography?

I wish I could find the image, but I saw a close up photograph with a super high quality lens of vomit once, and it was surprisingly so artistic.

Gotta love the focal length effect on Mt. Baker. Makes it look like massive like a snowy Mt. Fuji

At least those giant penis have the mass.

Wait until you see the prices and size of cinema lenses or collectible lenses. Some of them no bigger than a tennis ball can worth more than your cars (yes, combined)

All of the pics on this thread makes me want to dust off my camera and lenses. I took the above with a nikon 105 2.5 and is the only picture I didn't get shit on by 4chan /p/ and that was 15 years ago lol... time flies.

Badhobz 03-14-2025 08:34 PM

Dats amazing balls yrayrayray !!!!! Wowowowow in such low light too.

So my whole philosophy for the gear was to make it light and portable. I was gonna just buy a rx100 and take that for vacations but I figure an interchangeable lens system has more flexibility. Of course there is gonna be trade offs, no way will it ever get those tact sharp images like skinny pup or nvm or ray ray. But it’s so dsmn small with a 18-50 that I’m pretty sure it’s perfect for travel.

I’ll know in a week. I’m heading to Australia for about 3 weeks. Brisbane, Gold Coast, Perth and Melbourne.

Oh I believe it. Cuz even that r5 mk2 is almost 9k at London drugs right now and if nvm bought an R mount brand new 600 f4, that’s almost 20k right there.

One of my cousins is an avid photographer. Although he mainly takes portrait photographs for weddings as a side hustle, he is thinking of doing more outdoor photography of wildlife.

He mentioned the telephoto lenses that are sold at Broadway Camera.

For example, Over $25,000 for the Canon RF 1200mm F8 L. The bazooka hahaha.
The specs on the RF F8L are impressive.
A light super telephoto lenses at 7.8 pounds.

$5800 + tax @ Henry's, man

https://www.henrys.com/canon-eos-r5-...n+RF&style=New

I've been drooling over this since it came out. But when a 5d3 with still at least 50% shutter life remaining is only $500 in the used market, I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger on the R5 Mk2.

Badhobz 03-15-2025 02:09 PM

I must have been looking at a r3 or something. 5.5k for the body doesn’t sound so bad. 6k out the door….. yeah it’s not horrible. But the r5 mk1 is on sale for 4k now…. Hmmm

SkinnyPupp 03-15-2025 02:13 PM

Every hobby thread on Revscene turns into "this is the expensive thing I want to buy" LUL

Go take some pictures with what you have, I'm sure it's good enough!

EvoFire 03-15-2025 03:32 PM

Hobbies are expensive.

Watches, cars, biking, computers.

I have a friend who's into running. He goes through 2-3 pairs of shoes a year just running @ ~200/pair. For his marathons he wears his more expensive shoes at 5-600/pair as they provide more performance. Yeah you'd have thought running was cheap.....

westopher 03-15-2025 05:38 PM

We've managed as a species to make the last free thing on the planet (running) prohibitively expensive haha.

SkinnyPupp 03-15-2025 06:27 PM

I spent 6 months riding around urban Tokyo on a 30 or 40 year old barely working road bike, and I made some memories that will stay with me all my life. I get the appeal of buying cool gadgets and stuff, but it's not that necessary to enjoy the hobby itself.

$500 shoes seems insane to me lol

underscore 03-15-2025 08:04 PM

A lot of hobbies can be done fairly cheaply, people just choose to spend a lot of money on them sometimes.

Although in terms of $ spent per hour of hobby time those $200 pairs of shoes for running probably aren't too bad.

Happiest days of my photo days were shooting manual lenses with d3100. D3100 cant read aperture data from manual lenses so it was full manual mode. I then got d300 which could and eventually moved to FF and the automation turned me off.

Badhobz 03-15-2025 10:19 PM

I also really like going full manual with manual focus & manual aperture with these vintage 1970 Pentex lenses.

The look is sort of dreamy and old fashioned. Super takumar 4 the win !!!

My 5D3 is collecting dust in a drawer, upgraded to the R5 when it came out, night and day difference for most of what I shoot

Jason00S2000 03-16-2025 05:43 AM

All of the photos I took with my 5D MK2 were in manual mode, which is why at least 1/3rd of all my photos are out of focus. It made it that much better when I got a really crisp photo!

Badhobz 03-16-2025 08:08 AM

I finally got my forest puppy!!!

Who is the resident zoologist here? I can't tell if that forest puppy is a wolf or a coyote. Its coat looks too good to be a coyote, but it also looks a tad small to be a wolf.

red kryptonite 03-16-2025 10:12 PM

^^ its a coyote
