They sell the Lexus LM 4 seater here !!! It’s 240k Aud out the door but holy shit, that would be the first thing I buy here if we move.

The dude also said there’s probably a 2 year wait list because they get 10-15 cars a year max for the LM.

In comparison their LC convertible is 250k aud out the door, the RX 350 hybrid is 80-100k and an NX is around 70-90k

This fucker with glasses looks just like me. Stupid tree bear, pretty sure this guy is Asian. Not sure why the British convicts keep saying they are “Australian”. You put him in a Ching Chong mall, you’ll never find him again. Worlds hardest game of where’s Waldo Chang.

Badhobz gave up on Canada. I insist on a 3000% tariff on him when he comes back! :accepted:

SSM_DC5 03-29-2025 11:13 PM

But what's 3000% on something that's worthless?:hotbaby:

bcrdukes 03-30-2025 07:05 AM

Think of all the stuff at the port he's managing

OH! I thought you were talking about HIM as a person, not the stuff he handles. :alonehappy:

^It’s all pretty worthless to be honest hahaha

I’m getting so fucking fat eating this great food here. I’m in Perth right now and it’s not as good as Melbourne for food but I can see myself living here in OZ. The meat is super fresh because it’s all grass fed. The seafood is out of this world, especially that coral trout that you can only get on that side of the pacific. It’s all relatively expensive but you don’t need to tip so that sort of balances out.

Oh and the coffee culture in Melbourne is amazing. They got really really good coffee here.

The rest of the other gweilo stuff is pretty good too…. Yeeehhhb naaaahhhhh still not as good as hipster Vancouver but comparable.

No no see, that's $378 in Aus dollars.

...oh shit that's still $340

Badhobz 03-30-2025 05:37 PM

Yeh food ain’t cheap around here. Average breakfast for 2 is around 50-80 aud. Lunch would 80-100 and dinner well over 150-200.

underscore 03-30-2025 05:50 PM

$532 for a fish and a bug?

CivicBlues 03-30-2025 05:53 PM

Did you try the Barramundi? Not my favorite but you get a big filet from the big ass fish

Meat Pies are cheap and tasty too if you want to get off your bougie high horse and try some real local food.

Are Australian salaries just that much higher, or is eating out just moreso for special occasions?

Badhobz 03-30-2025 06:19 PM

seems like a lot of natives are eating out at the same places we are, so i dont think its anything special to spend this kind of money. The waiters are getting 26+ dollars an hour here so i think they are doing okay.

I mean its relatively the same prices as what we are doing in vancouver. I dont think i can spend less than 60-80 dollars for brunch in vancouver. Cactus club for me and the wife is often 150+ and its nothing special so its standard affair

Even a big mac is 9 dollars here for just the burger.

whitev70r 03-30-2025 07:59 PM

Well look on the bright star, tipping is a North American culture so no tipping in Aus, right?
Even at 15%, you would have saved ~$80!

This month's Jenny Bakery tin design looks like you too lol. They're some butter cookie company in Hong Kong that changes tin designs every couple months for collectiblity/anti counterfeiting. We were gifted a tin last year from my sister in law's husband's family last summer. They're pretty good, so we picked up a tin in HK a week ago.

Damn that’s nice compression!!! I find my camera is taking some really good food and portrait shots, but slightly mediocre landscape shots due to my desire to have everything in focus.

red kryptonite 03-31-2025 07:11 AM

im more outraged by the $8 tea at a chinese restaurant

edit: my bad misread it lol

Badhobz 04-01-2025 09:37 AM

Gays gays gays !!! I finally got a shot of my favourite fuzzy thing in OZ. It’s sooooo cute ! Wayyy better than those tiny penguins, fuck those guys, this tiny bouncy mouse is better than its bigger bouncy mouse cousins. They said do not feed it or touch it but I touched it and gave it some leaves.

It's harder to find, but you can get one piece leather coin sacks that are made from Kangaroo leather.... Specifically it's just a Kangaroo Scrotum.
