i used to use a vpn and buy yt premium from a ukrainian ip.. cost me like $3 a month. now they cracked down.

yt premium is actually pretty sweet... you get yt music which is not bad, and best of all you can actually use youtube with the screen off or in the background so you can multitask with it on.
i mean it's a feature that it should have always had anyway and now sold at a premium cost, but for $3 its worth it. for $10+, no thanks.

for some reason for the past 4-5 months i havent seen a single youtube ad and i dont have premium anymore... not sure why

donk. 06-06-2025 02:07 PM

10$ for tens hours of youtube without ads is well worth it

I probably watch more youtube than netflix and netflix is double the cost

I gave up on adblockers, vpn, roku box, all that crap a decade ago, you spend more time sifting and setting it up, avoiding viruses, for what? To save 10$/ month? Some guys spend that much on cigarettes per day, or bubbletea....

Same as unit, i find all my music off there too, then download it legally

What kind of wack systems were you using? I just enabled uBlock in Firefox and that works for everything, not just YouTube. I just manually switched it off for a couple of forums like here.

Hondaracer 06-06-2025 02:24 PM

I never watch YouTube on anything but my TV so kinda forced to buy premium

We watched about 3 hours of content between different channels and it’s consistently 90+ seconds of ads for every 15-20 minutes of content. Over a year it’s a pretty small price to pay for your time

SkinnyPupp 06-06-2025 02:25 PM

Add this to your Ublock filter

Code:

www.youtube.com##+js(nano-stb, resolve(1), *, 0.001)
www.youtube.com##+js(set, yt.config_.EXPERIMENT_FLAGS.web_enable_ab_rsp_cl, false)
www.youtube.com##+js(set, yt.config_.EXPERIMENT_FLAGS.ab_pl_man, false)
||googlevideo.com/videoplayback$xhr,3p,method=get,domain=www.youtube.com

Is working for me, so far

Artists have also started to become oppresively expensive in this city nowadays, going upwards of $300-$350 an hour.

I tend to get inked now on vacation on the last few days of a trip, makes for a good memory piece, and rates are much better in places abroad like Mexico and Thailand, even parts of the US.

The water was cold as fuck this time of year, I probably used my snorkel only twice the entire month out there.

About 20-21 degree water temps, which is fine for me being used to Vancouver waters, the GF on the other hand, no bueno. That Filipina just sat her ass on the beach every time :lol

If you do Greece, go in September.

Wait until machines can tattoo as good as an actual tattoo artist...

from a guy who claims he is an advocate for art, i find it weird that you are obsessed with ai art. eventually it will take away so many jobs from people who actually have real talent.
i wouldnt spend more than $10 an an AI art print, but i would spend a few hundred on a signed and numbered print from a good artist.

Surprised it was still so cold so south

We were swimming in Positano and Amalfi in late November and my wife is the same would never get into anything remotely cold.

I guess it takes longer for the water to warm up into the summer than it does cool down into the winter

AI art is the democratification of creativity. It frees up the ability for any human being to use the tools to the capabilities of their imagination and not their capabilities of pouring time into a craft.

Think of how many epic stories and creative masterpieces the world has missed because the scripts went into the bin when grandpa died, because he had to work in a factory all his life and never got his beluga whale and model trainset softcore hentai made.

The magic of filmmaking doesn't go away just because AI is here, it is enhanced.

unit 06-07-2025 12:00 PM

famous art pieces have history while ai art is just the most sterile version of art possible.

Wait so ad blockers actually stop scheduled ad’s in YouTube videos?

noclue 06-07-2025 07:33 PM

man I watched youtube in a hotel with no adblock and it's awful, worse than TV. Mandatory ads in the beginning, content creator shilling some junk product, interrupted by another ad mid break, then "please like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell" at the end.

spoon.ek9 06-07-2025 07:41 PM

I've mostly just tuned it out by now lol. Yeah, the ads are annoying but it never sways me to buy anything. Their efforts are all worthless against me.

As for paid sponsorship portions, I just fast forward past it.

Thats your cue to dislike

I've got a YT sub from my sister's family account, but I recall that uBlock Origin was great at blocking their ads.

I'm on the Netflix ads tier for $9/month. uBlock works great for that, too. The only ad we see is a static picture when the stream is paused.

Yep. On my PC I never see any ad on YouTube whatsoever.

The odd time I watch something on my tablet I'm amazed that people put up with all that crap all the time. I don't mind having to hit skip as much as I hate that it takes it out of full screen so I have to press multiple buttons to get back to normal.

red kryptonite 06-08-2025 10:51 PM

it stops all ads
1) no pre ads
2) no mid way ads

No nothing brah - and it's free... i don't get why people pay for premium .. again.. that's just me when i'm using a PC.

i'm so old, i've been using FB purity so no ads there and all these ad blocker = no ads on google, no ads on my gmail / yahoo mail.

I saw browsers with ads on my mom's PC and i'm like WTH is all this...

NO more TEMU / SHEIN / Aliexpress ads anywhere i surf was pretty sweet.

Badhobz 06-09-2025 09:24 AM

^cuz for a family plan its cheap as shit!

Okay so i pay 22 bucks a month for premium and i can share it with 5 people! (4 dollars a month per account)

totally worth it and you get youtube music. I combine with google one (for additional photo and drive storage) and its even cheaper as a bundle deal and it works for all mobile devices so you can watch it/listen to youtube while doing something else.
