These Indian guys are different, they do stupid and dangerous shit behind the wheel, and when you call them out they respond with aggression and attitude, which is entirely worse in my opinion.

Welcome to the GTA.

I don't mess around with these guys. They're too unpredictable.

chinese afraid of dying

indians are not afraid of dying

Indian guys as pedestrians are the fucking wildest downtown. Especially the ones carrying an insulated bag. Ready to die at any moment to get that avocado toast to its new home. Zero awareness of cars, lights, or other pedestrians.

When I was in Toronto a couple weeks ago, one in an elantra decided to YOLO a right turn from the left lane in front of the car ahead of me.

Anybody else notice we are having a fantastic season for local fruit this year?

Blueberries and cherries have been cheap, plentiful, and sweet.

Local strawberries last month were some of the best in recent years.

Seems like I have been going through multiple pounds of blueberries a week lately. Frozen blueberries on a hot day is just :sweetjesus:

Fruits in the area seemed to be doing really good, even the home growers. My pear tree is doing exceptional after a zero crop last year, same with my neighbour's across the street. Friend's fig tree is also doing very well.

When I was there earlier in the year a guy flashed his lights at me to tell me he was going to blow the very red light I was trying to finish my left turn though. On the one hand I guess it was considerate in a way, but on the other if you have that much time just stop like a normal person.

I thought that was the general pattern of pear or apple trees, every other year bearing fruit. When I had 2 trees, that was the pattern.

Have you had yearly consistent crops?

I’m in LA this week doing a terminal tour and they put me up in this fancy pantsy hotel that’s nautical themed. It feels like if the designer wanted to make a sex theme room and ended up with the most niche kink ever: sexy container shipping…..

The fuck ? The only people who would appreciate this would be people in marine and there’s not that many of us. Not enough to fill a 500 room Hyatt that’s for sure.

SkinnyPupp 08-12-2025 10:47 PM

That looks like it was designed by AI

Either that or some idiot just added everything they could think of that fit the theme, without thinking about it for even a second

underscore 08-12-2025 11:13 PM

If it was just the pictures I would've thought they did it just because of the group you're with but the lighting and wallpaper means it's like that all the time.

I don't know much of anything about sea travel but are those things even from the same type of transportation? There's a bunch of stuff that's obviously about containers/cargo but the lights make me think of a submarine and the pillows of a sailboat.

Badhobz 08-13-2025 05:46 AM

Yes that light is inspired by a buoy and the overall design is like a cabin onboard a more traditional cruise liner. but then all the pictures are of container ships and container operation which is weird… after a whole day of yammering shit about container shipping the last thing I wanna do is sleep in a container themed bedroom.

Weirdest hotel I’ve ever been to. The queen Mary floating hotel is less on the nose than this place.

I'm gonna have to say I have not the first clue when it comes to gardening.

Come to think of it, it might be skip years? The tree came with the house, we've been here 4 years and this is the 4th crop. The first year there wasn't much and we didn't think much of it as we were too busy renovating.

Second year we got a bucket of pears which were quite good. We harvested our neighbour's as well because they couldn't be bothered. The pear blossom also smelled amazing.

Last year was the third and we got no pears. Literally zero.

This year we got lots of blossoms but it didn't smell as good. Tons of pears though, literally a hundred, and I've shook a bunch out to thin the crop out early.

So I guess yeah it's every other year it seems.
