I’m sort of embarrassed (in bare ass) to post this, but it’s Revscene. You have been warned!

NSFW…………. Maybe?

I feel so dirty I had to spoiler the link. As usual, the comments are gold.

Day to day i don’t carry anything unless I’m bringing a camera around

Badhobz 10-10-2025 05:22 AM

My backpack is a car

68style 10-10-2025 06:20 AM

If you’re looking for the lightest weight possible and a variety of sizes with a similar over the top close I would check out a company called Gossamer Gear. I have some of their packs, phenomenal stuff.

i'm the opposite. the wide is fine, i'm missing these but since these are Meta, can't be added on.

I'm using some backpack I got off of Amazon a few years ago. It's perfectly sized to fit into those bag sizers at the airport for your personal item. It even fits into the shady one from Flair that is smaller than advertised.

Weight doesn’t really matter much. Just looking for something sleek with lots of exterior pockets and waterproof. What’s nice about the lulu one is one of the pocket at the bottom is waterproof from the inside as well, great for swim/sweaty gym gear.

GLOW 10-10-2025 09:17 AM

i don't carry much these days, usually it's the rare trip to the office so i have a couple of cheapo laptop backpacks i got for free, and ditto if i go out and just have a shoulder backpack for water or whatever. i really try to travel light vs a huge backpack like i'm going for a 7 day hike.

i'm also an old hermit though so i'm probably an exception

bcrdukes 10-10-2025 09:20 AM

Silly question but does this backpack also have anything to do with your China trip? Aka marriage proposal? :lol

Traum 10-10-2025 09:57 AM

Would a stroll at MEC give you some ideas on a new backpack?

If I were to need one, that's what I'd do. But every since MEC moved to their False Creek location, it's a massive PITA for me to get there, and I just haven't gone nearly as often.

That said, I hated going into MEC anyway. Everyone who shops there look like they are young and/or fit, and I look like shxt by comparison. :okay:

Have a look at Peak Design bags - you can readily find them at London Drugs (some are on sale right now).

They're pricy but they offer lifetime warranty and have ton of exterior pockets meant for camera gear, but you can adapt accordingly.

I don't use a backpack often these days, but I've had the same Dakine backpack since 2001 and the only wear is that some mesh is torn on one of the water bottle pockets. My smaller bag from Black Diamond is nearly as old and also holding up great. Both were waterproof but that hasn't been tested in a while

EvoFire 10-10-2025 02:38 PM

I went down this rabbit hole a few months ago and realized that unless I'm willing to part with like almost $400 for a backpack, nothing out there really beats my Timbuk2 I got on sale from MEC. MEC doesn't carry Timbuk2 anymore which is a bummer.

Stylish, affordable, functional. Pick 2.

Badhobz 10-10-2025 02:39 PM

^those china bags i posted fill all 3. dun know whatchu talking about

Looks like it's a bergen/hiking inspired style. Surprised that you haven't found one in the Arcteryx/Patagonia/fjallraven lines, as they're pretty outdoor inspired.

5.11 and Mystery Ranch have similarly styled daypacks, if they're what your looking for.

I've got a Lulu, that's similarly styled that I use often, a 5.11 sling that has lots of organization, but is heavy due to that.

EvoFire 10-10-2025 03:23 PM

I have one of those China bags in my storage if you need one :fullofwin:
