It appears that Trevor Zegras feels the same way about Quinn Hughes as many Vancouver Canucks fans do. In a recent interview with ESPN, the Philadelphia Flyers forward spoke very highly of Vancouver's captain. Zegras knows plenty about Hughes, as not only is the 24-year-old friends with his brothers, but the two have gone head-to-head a handful of times over the past five years.

According to the article, Zegras said, "I never want to play Quinn ever again. He's the best hockey player of all-time." This was in response to the Flyers forward no longer having to be in the same division as Hughes. Zegras spent the first five years of his career in the Pacific Division with the Anaheim Ducks before being traded to Philadelphia this off-season.

all these new contracts are percentage wise based on the new salary cap. the numbers look wild to us but we're basing our opinions off of old average numbers. it's definitely a gamble but who knows, down the road it may look like an absolute steal just like when everyone thought the oilers were crazy for paying draisatl.

Sasson, Bains, Raty, D-Petey, Mancini, Lekkerimaki, Willander and Tolopilo are all currently still with the team off the top of my head

baby canucks are making it difficult for management to send them back lol. what a thumping last night, 8-1 victory with 2 of those being shorties. Meaningless game, yes but Calgary did stomp on us 10-0 in 2023 pre-season.

Lek should make it. Cootes is definitely making a case for himself.

Those 2 goals by Lek were lightening bolts. He needs to put on more size to be a full NHLer, but for now he'd be a great PP piece.

I'd like to see Cootes marinate for 1 season before coming up full time. Don't wanna rush the kid and risk injury/improper development. He has the tools to be a full timer it seems which is great because we need him badly lol.

but if he goes down, he has to go back to junior. i think he'll learn lots and develop with the big club. he's good defensively and with the other centers we have, i think there will be less pressure for him.

he just needs to grow into his body. at least with the big club, he'll have access to trainers, amenities and good diet.

they can have him, raty, and blueger rotate between 3/4C. it's only a matter of time before someone gets injured anyway.

also, we need him to develop a little quicker to show Quinn that we're building a good team so he'll sign an extension

Mancini and Willander down to Abby. So, D-petey and Forbort will be bottom pairing, and that Joseph guy will be #7 i guess

That leaves 1 more forward to be sent down between Cootes, Lekk, Bains, Raty, Karlsson. And then another to be sent down later when Hog returns.

I think Cootes get his 9 games and then back to Junior.

It will be up to Bains and Karlsson to square off for that last spot, both are not waiver exempt. Raty is staying he’s been lights out since the end of last season onward, won 10/14 faceoffs last game too.

McDavid signs a very cap friendly, discount of 2 yr extension at $12.5 M /AAV. Took even less money than what Draisaitl is making ($14M/yr). Kudos for taking one for the team. Crosby like leadership.
