it basically lets you play download games from the net/torrents on your ds.. also lets you play music/videos

The microSD card comes with an adapter to make it a regular SD card. You must have an SD card reader no? Most computers come with them...

Once you get one, copy the kernel files over to the memory card, then your ROM files, then pop it in the DS and voila!

I get all my gaming accessories stuff from XSkin. The salesperson there is an extremely nice guy. If you are a repeat customer, he gives you pretty good deals.

go the the R4 offical website and download the latest kernel files and copy it into ur mini sd card. the R4 shoudl come with a SD card reader and a USB card reader tha u can put the mini SD card in. If u still don't know how to use it then u shoudl read the manuals.

mc25, I had problems configuring my R4 too. I bought the R4 because I wanted to use my DS as a daytimer. I downloaded one of them home brew apps and tried to get it to work. After pulling out the very little hair I had left, I broke down and took the DS and the R4 back to the place I got it from (XSkin). The guy there got it to work. It required some translator files.

After all that, I found the daytimer software to be too cumbersome to use and now use the R4 primarily to listen to MP3's.

Like you, I have a Mac. Find a PC with a tray type CD player. Copy the files to a USB flash drive. Copy the contents to your Mac. Or scrap all that and find the files on line. To transfer files from your computer to DS, use the supplied usb card reader. The card shows up on the desktop and everything is drag and drop.

Good advice except for the CD part. You don't need the files on the CD, just use the latest version found on the link you provided. Download the English kernel, unzip it, copy the files over, and you're done.

or you could just go to FS, and get them to beat the zellers price by a 10% difference...that's what i did on the bridgeport FS

I've been to XSKIN in Crystal Mall numerous times. I can't tell if the Hori is real or fake, but I just assume it's real to save myself stress.

The guy there is Jackie (last time I checked) and he's really nice. If a certain item is out of stock at the one at Crystal, he will tell you to goto the XSKIN in Metro and to tell them he sent you to get the same price.

Just a warning: FAKE HORI Screen protectors are VERY common. If the price is any lower than $8-10, it is almost definitely a fake.

That was written when the Lites first came out, so it is comparing to the old, shitty DS.

And yes, DS Lites are region free, so you can play them anywhere. If you live in Canada you'll want the Japanese one, since the charger is the same. However there is a major shortage of Japanes DS Lites in Hong Kong, so it could take weeks for an order to be fulfilled. We send HK versions right away though. The only difference there is the plug; you would have to buy a 3rd party multi-voltage plug from us, or better yet a USB cable charger.

BTW the R4DS we carry is now the latest hardware revision. Instead of a spring-loading microSD slot, it's a slot load. However, I haven't had a single person have a problem with the spring.

R4DS is good because you just copy a clean, unmodified DS rom over to the memory card and it will work.

The Supercard requires you to run its own software to mod and copy the rom files to the memory card first.

All the japanese versions of Phoenix Wright have the english option where you basically tap the button and the WHOLE text in the game turns to english.

Yeah dude download play works but so far I can't get multiplayer going if everyone's got their own rom

FFXII Revenant Wings is to FFXII as FF Tactics Advance is to FF Tactics as FFX-2 was to FFX.

Tactics Advance, FFX-2 and Revenant Wings are all lighter-toned compared to the original.

RW is not a real RTS, and if you're looking for that kind of depth then don't bother. I do like it because it's easy enough for RTS noobs like me to spam monsters and work through another Ivalice Alliance game.

I downloaded the EU and US versions of Mario party and both times I got an error messages when trying to open it.

I've noticed that all my recent downloads had errors (ie. Contra), so what am I doing wrong?

I was able to load and successfully run older DS ROMS that I downloaded long ago but haven't loaded on the R4 yet...

Do I need to update the R4 software to run newer ROMs?

There's no English 1.12 yet, but depending on how old the firmware you're using is, 1.11 should be good enough. Worms 2 won't work without 1.12 though.

If some of my games don't work (like I unzip them onto the card and then when I try to play them, they don't load) is it something I'm doing wrong? Or am I just having a bit of bad luck when choosing roms?
