I think the bed is actually fine, the cab looks tweaked. Look at the wheel gaps/ground clearance on both sides of it.

Did you guys notice the left side body lines line up fine when the front bags are up, and then the cab drops an inch lower than the bed when the front is aired out...

Stock the suspension isn't amazing for handling, can't compare to a 3-series of that era, but if you drop it just a little bit and put proper shocks on it the whole car wakes up.

For me, sitting in it, you can't beat the greenhouse space it just feels fantastic to sit in/see out of and it's luxurious + sporty + smooth and pretty bulletproof. Both of mine have been stone axe reliable. Extremely positive feedback from steering and all pedals.

It provides an experience you can't buy anymore driver-feel wise and it's a pretty iconic car from the JDM lore side of things and, personally, I think the styling has aged really well.


This makes me miss my IS very much. I miss the feel and reliability. I wonder if the current owner is on here.

Funny you said it, I have a SHO engine and bought it with the same thought in mind... there’s ways to get it to work with a T5 and I think the Aerostar bell housing?? There a local 240Z using a SHO engine with a Vortech supercharger but that engine is insanely tall being DOHC with that crazy intake... it didn’t look like it would clear the stock hood and I’m not one to put a scoop on or something lol...

I’m also now concerned about future maintenance almost anything connected to the SHO engine is NLA from Ford these days so it’s a bit dubious that way too......

Sometimes oem is nice. My old focus SVT, the clutch was discontinued 2 years after they sold the car. So if you wanted a new clutch you had to go aftermarket, with a new pressure plate and flywheel to match.

Oh shit, that's my uncle's buddy's car. I've never seen it in person but I kept hearing stories.
It was already built that way from the previous owner he bought it from. Makes something like 800+HP, but never got the tune right to be streetable. One way or another it will eventually leave your hands and end up owned by someone who will not baby it and who won't care for it properly. I know a bunch of friends who have sold their babied cars and had that happen.

At that point I went fuck it, if someone's gonna have fun risking damage to my car it may as well be me. I'm not going to baby it for a couple decades just so some kid can go Ken Block it into a lamp post.
