I ran un-insured for 26 days last month. The parking attendant at Royal Bank reminded me. I got the letter from ICBC, but that was a couple months before it expired, and I have put it off long enough to forget about it.

saucywoman 01-08-2007 05:47 PM

I didn't get the letter and when I went to re-insure it today the autobroker person said it's not uncommon and that her boyf never rec'd one either

RRxtar 01-08-2007 06:03 PM

you shouldnt have to count on a letter to renew your insurance.

saucywoman 01-08-2007 06:59 PM

I do it yearly and with all the stuff I have to remember with work I don't remember other minor stuff (yes I know, get a dayplanner which I'm doing, lol)

I was telling my boss at panago this, and he said he forgot once for 3 months and didn't realize it til he got pulled over.
Thank god I never got pulled over. I was thinking that when I went on my lunch to get it that I might get pulled over, but thankfully not :)

i wouldn't call forgetting about your insurance and driving around "minor." think about what could happen, and no i'm not just talking about the fine you'd get if busted.

fourtirefire 01-08-2007 10:36 PM

it's usually something i'll take a mental note of when I walk behind my vehicle as the time is getting nearer to renew

Chandler 01-08-2007 11:03 PM

check out the amazing footwork.

yes I know all the consequences that could happen. It's not like it's something I delibertly did (well except for yesterday). whatever, this conversation is done I don't need to justify what happened

Exactly, it was an "oops" moment, but really not that big of a deal. It happens more often than you can imagine. Jonny's parents did it and they did get caught while leaving our family picnic. The cop understood and just made them tow their vehicle, but other than that he didn't fine them cause he understood that they did not receive their regular reminder letter and thus were totally not aware that anything was wrong. . .because there were more important things do deal with and the reminder letter is sent out for that very reason.

You have your insurance now I assume, so really not that big of a deal. Day planners are amazing. . . I would literally be lost without mine.

Oh. . . and rickipoo has significantly discounted access to the best lawyers in the city through moi, so she doesn't need to worry about legal reprecussions (I'm being a smart ass by the way, lol).

The wife and I moved from Kelowna to Penticton over Christmas to be closer to work. We had our place completely boxed up and moved in 3 days...not too shabby considering the amount of "stuff" that we have (almost filled a 26' UHaul truck). It's our 3rd home in the last year so I'm really hoping that we will stay put and have time to settle in.
Penticton has been great so far. The traffic, bridge, and "hustle-bustle" of Kelowna was starting to get to me, so the move to a smaller city has been refreshing.

saucywoman 01-09-2007 03:56 PM

lol.. thanks Tasha.
I got my dayplanner today and it's already coming in handy. My saleslady brought some into the office for me to look over and left one with me. Now I just have to go pay her after work as I only have debit on me atm

saucywoman 01-09-2007 07:52 PM

the north shore. Why are you on the hill?

starwood 01-09-2007 10:03 PM

No, I know a guy that worked at the one on the hill forever. He left not very long ago when he got a job with the city.

saloman 01-09-2007 11:24 PM

does Cara still work at the N.S. Panago? I know a few ppl at the Sahali/Aberdeen location.

just ripped a huge hole in my mouth, i got a blister from burning the roof of my mouth on pizza and that blister just poped and wow it fing hurts...anyone know what might kill the pain?

saucywoman 01-10-2007 12:19 AM

No Cara quit around summer time

Festus351 01-10-2007 06:33 AM

Does Jay still work at the N.S one? ive heard hes back there now... its been going on 4 years since ive worked there so im sure lots of people aren't there anymore... but id imagine Adam, dan, Jay, possibly Kevin, and maybe jordan are there still?

saucywoman 01-10-2007 07:09 AM

adam, dan and jordan are there. When you say jay are you talking about the one who's half black/white? If so yes he's there again

Found a loophole in ICBC's insurance claims.

Alright... My Cavalier had comprehensive, collison, fire theft etc... when the car was written off last week, icbc collected my registration there leaving my plates with no registered vehicle attached to them. (Same as paying for plates for a previous vehicle that you no longer own)

Now... when I went to collect the rental vehicle, and have the insurance covered by ICBC (so I dont pay $14.99 a day) was if my insurance is valid on another vehicle that I own. (the vehicle that I wrote off, is no longer mine) ICBC took my insurance off that vehicle... there leaving it so I couldnt rent due to the fact that I no longer have a registered vehicle. I had to transfer the registration onto the GMC, just so I would be covered (having a insured vehicle in my name). This would fuck most people since they wouldnt have a 2nd vehicle to insure, or else they'd be driving that instead of renting.

RRxtar 01-10-2007 06:03 PM

that made no sence whatsoever.
