Yeah, it sucks. Great for work for me tho, All our Customers/Carriers pay in American Dollars, as the dollar goes down, bonuses go up :) so I have mixed oponion.

Fuck the stock market tho.

I'm rather happy with the stock market :D I'm paying less than 90c/L for gas in a car that gets 30+ mpg in the city and the interest on my line of credit/student loans has gone down almost 1%...bring on the recession!!! :D

girlcrazy_420 10-31-2008 12:06 AM

Landlord knocked on the door for rent after a few friends and I lit up a joint :o He looked a little pissy, but still took the $ and left. Guess I've still got a house :)

Spoken Like a man who clearly doesnt have a dollar invested....Thankfully governments will now bail out economies to avoide recessions. TSX rose 4 days in a row, keep it goin!

nope...not a penny invested :D I'm loving the economy...it's really helping me out bigtime :) Btw...the TSX fell on Friday.

I hope it goes gown a bit more that way i can find a house for a reasonable price. side note what i have invested hasnt been affected, thank goodness.

jeffh 11-01-2008 11:37 PM

my investments got hammered a bit, but im not going to retire tomorrow, so i cant say i am too worried aboot it

SmokeyTheBandit 11-02-2008 09:13 AM

i just started investing in mutual funds with my bank, since apparently it shows that i "save" money. so i started 2 months back or so, every time i get paid $50 goes into the fund. so $100/ month

so far on that alone i've tanked like 30% lol

on the other hand, i am lucky because my employer matches my stock contributions by 25%. and i put in the max, which is 5% of my pay every cheque. so thats about $5500-6000 i put in myself and i get around $1400ish from the company every year. pretty wicked deal, not to mention the stock is slowly climbing up and up.

SmokeyTheBandit 11-02-2008 09:19 AM

hot damn i cant makeup my mind. the dealer let me take home a 08 tundra for the weekend and i love the truck!

i dont know which one i should get.

a smart man would pick the tacoma, better mpg and decent towing capacity. but it would be nice to be able to have that extra towing capacity and space...

RRxtar 11-02-2008 09:30 AM

the tundra cant get much worse fuel economy than the tacoma. hell the 5.8L V8 blows the 5.4 F150 out of the water. and its not like theres any gas guzzling hills to climb in saskatoon

id pick the tundra all day. the tacoma is just too small for the price and IMO, ugly as hell. they cant be much different in price either?

When I was looking a couple months back, the Tundra was over 50k. Tacomas go in the mid 30s with most options. I really wanted a Tundra, but couldn't justify paying almost twice as much for it over the dodge.

OffroadZuki 11-02-2008 10:29 AM

whoa...you live in Toon town? cool! I was just there on...uhh...Friday. Nice town, got a good vibe from it. It's no Victoria or Vancouver, but a whole lot better than most places in Alberta and northern BC lol

SmokeyTheBandit 11-02-2008 02:44 PM

tacoma double cab 4L V6 TRD Sport Package $35,810
tundra double cab off road package 5.7L V8 $40,475

when its all said and done, my tacoma would be around the 39-40k mark and the tundra would be around the 47-49k mark with what i want.

i think in the city, the tacoma would get a fair bit better mileage. i mean thats pretty much all i do is city. and i will be using the vehicle for winter for work.

the tacoma is an awesome truck and has lots of power for its size. the only reason i like the tundra more is that she can tow 10,000lbs while the tacoma is at 6500lbs.

as is, i have no need to tow anything over 6500 lbs...

the real kicker for me is going to be the payments. i am looking around the 650-700 mark for the tacoma and 850-900 for the tundra. on top of that i will be buying a new house next spring and the mortgage will be like 1600-2k. i dont know how thin i want to stretch myself out. my mortgage right now is only 400 =) but i put in 1k

RRxtar 11-02-2008 08:31 PM

hmm i thought when i was pricing them out the tacoma was well into the low 40s, perhaps i was mistaken

SmokeyTheBandit 11-03-2008 03:28 AM

i think they use to be, but with the dollar gaining strength its gone down. 2 years ago i went to the dealer about the tacoma and i think i priced mine out and it was like 42-43k.

same features and everything is now 37-38.

i hope it doesnt go back up now that our dollar sucks again.

OffroadZuki 11-03-2008 07:26 AM

umm...why exactly do you need a 40K truck with an offroad package if you're mostly tooling around town?

I mean you're worried about being able to afford it, but it seems like you don't even really need it...

SmokeyTheBandit 11-03-2008 04:21 PM

well, the only reason id get the off road package with the tacoma is because it allows you to tow 6500lbs. without it, i think it tows 5000lbs. its just the way they package it, off road basically means its geared for extra towing ability. engine/oil cooler, stiffer shocks, etc.

i am going to be towing cars, boat, motorcycles etc. nothing really over 6500lbs as of right now. but i might get a 5th wheel down the road, or a big ass boat.

the only reason i am thinking about the tundra is because i will write the vehicle off for work. approx 35% i get back. so its kinda like i get a bit of a deal, almost. making the 50k truck more affordable
