recall time for Acura....

girlcrazy_420 08-18-2008 10:05 AM

Dude, that sucks about your rim. Glad that everyone is okay.

So I had this wonderfull collection of collector coins, $40 or so in mountie quarters, the loonies with the little statues on them etc etc etc... I dont have a single one left. Turns out the gf has been digging into my piggy-bank for the past year and used them all up. Son of a bitch... I've been collecting since I was a kid. All thats left is dimes and nickles.

No mom, I'm not watching bukake movies again 08-18-2008 10:43 AM

So my two year old was in her room playing and I hear a loud thump and then a blood curdling scream. I rush into the room to find a 1 inch gash on her right eyebrow. So off to emerg we go. 5 hours and three stitches later she's good as new. Nothing is more horrible then having to hold your kid down while some lazy hindu doctor forgot were he put the syringe full of anisthetic and was like, "meh the area is pretty numb and she's too young to remember this."

saucywoman 08-18-2008 10:50 AM

oh god Russ, glad sophie is okay... too bad that happened though

saucywoman 08-22-2008 09:57 AM

boobies, boobies, boobies, boobies

just thinkin out loud.

fourtirefire 08-25-2008 11:12 PM

13.8mpg on the first fill in the truck, allready 1mpg better than the mustang in town. Plus this was all city, including trailer towing, and offroad 4x4ing.

zumvette 08-26-2008 06:31 PM

I think it will only get worse as you drive it more, cuz you will get on the fuel more and more.

On a side note, today I had the Gas Inspector come by the store and he was looking at the mechanical end of things and i had the radio on very quitely and the song by lady gaga came on, he was looking over the wiring diagram of the make up air unit for the grill and he starts humming to the song at first I was kinda like no, then realized he was totally going along was funny shit cuz he looked into his 60's

girlcrazy_420 08-29-2008 12:23 PM

who sells that carpet type material sub boxes usually have on them. Seems like a good replacement type material for door panels and such.

I don't recall CT having it when I worked there in Auto, I'm pretty sure Walmart does though but the quality is meh compared to audio shops.

Iceman-19 08-30-2008 10:24 AM

fuck, last day of work and my boss is trying to make me actually do real work. this sucks!

Comes in rolls, in three colors it think.

so I went bombing around up Trepanier Rd outside of Peachland with a buddy on his dad's 250cc Honda Odyssey's, only going for about a half hour when I decide to dori dori some really loose stuff, snag the rear end on a rock and flip it on its side. My first reaction was to kill the motor then I realise my left shoulder is hurting like a mofo and know somethings wrong. Pack everything up and bounce down the road using my other arm to do the job of a sling, get to KGH and talk to some nice people there, get checked out and learn I dislocated it which looked really fucked when I got my shirt off but at least the x-rays showed I didn't break anything. Got some painkillers and shit and they pop it back in for me. Quality establishment for sure, would highly recommend.

Oh and trying to take a leak while wearing jeans and a hospital gown with one arm that has to stay propped up by something to reduce pain and an IV in the other is a bitch.

Iceman-19 08-31-2008 09:05 AM

Haha, that fuckin sucks. Lucky it was just dislocated, no where near as bad as broken!

Those things are fun hey! I've owned 3 growing up, but i've yet to try out the argo.

RRxtar 08-31-2008 02:46 PM

ive heard a dislocation is almost worse in the long run than a break. because once a break heals, as long as its lined up again, it should be as strong as it was before. but your chance of dislocation a shoulder thats been dislocated before is apparently quite high. but im no doctor so i dont know if its true or not.

underscore 08-31-2008 07:58 PM

Yeah the Odysseys are a hell of a lot of fun haha, pull start, no reverse or real gears, just a CVT setup, no suspension.

In the short run a break is better as it heals pretty quick, but in the long run it's worse because it can now dislocate again much easier, for some people it happens so much that it can pop out when they reach up to comb their hair, whereas a break usually has little to no effect or the future potential of another break. If it gets that bad then they have surgeries you can get to close up the socket around the "ball" again. That's what the doctors told me anyways.

So I'll have to watch myself a bit skiing this season, which of course sounds better in theory than practical application haha. So I wouldn't be too surprised if I end up doing it again at Big White or Revelstoke, hopefully it's not in too remote a spot.

RedCeli 09-01-2008 07:57 AM

I bought my Sun Peaks pass the other day. I forgot to buy it in April when it was really cheap, so it was $629. I'm hoping that having a pass will encourage me to get up there more. And having the truck will help a lot too as I was a little skeptical about the Celica on that road after putting it in the ditch once already last year.

14.9mpg this time!

darnold 09-01-2008 02:18 PM

Its because the ligaments within the joint become so stretched out from the bone being out of place, usually caused by repeated dislocations. The operation involves the orthopedic surgeon effectively shortening the ligaments by cutting and reattaching them to make a tight fit again.

Dislocations suck, ive had a few sports injuries in my life including broken bones which werent really too painful... but a dislocated shoulder is fucking unbearable. It feels like someone is trying to rip your arm off until the joint is properly reset.
