i and the people that run the cactus disagree, when i was working there we were constantly getting awards for quality and cust. service

i imagine its the same, today

TheSmokeShow 10-03-2008 10:30 AM

The only thing I liked that other cactus clubs were missing was the misters... It might of been good before when it was newer. I almost always get the same thing and it's slimy in kelowna.

Have you eaten there since feenie redid the menu for them?? I was at the new one on marine dr in new west and feenie was out greeting and talking to the tables. By far the best Cactus to eat at right now.

RRxtar 10-03-2008 03:50 PM

feenie still has a job in british columbia?

jeffh 10-03-2008 05:31 PM

^ this one hasnt done the menu change yet, i think the one on marine is the test kitchen, its always the best to eat at i think

and yeah, feenie is the new exec chef, i personally think he is a hack, but i think that about msot tv chefs

RRxtar 10-03-2008 08:09 PM

feenie is the exec chef at cactus club?!

Nope.... the test kitchen has been around a hell of alot longer than the one on marine... the one on marine opened in may. I forget which one is the test kitchen.

It has... cause the last time i ate at it i ate the cactus version of the feenie burger. "The Burger".

RRxtar 10-04-2008 06:27 AM

i truely believe the peppercorn steak is the best steak in kelowna for under $25.

I believe the best steak in Kelowna is at my house. Home cooked = the best.

oh of course, I'm just saying I usually prefer home cooked steaks vs any I've had in a restaurant, albeit I haven't yet been to a rediculously high end place tho I'd have trouble paying $50 for a steak that might not even be as good as the ones I can get at home. We also just found a thing on the best way to cut loin(?) so it's tender as hell.

jeffh 10-05-2008 11:28 AM

cactus steaks are very good, ricks grill is good, maybe not worth the $$
black iron grill in penticton has the best quality meat in the okanagan, but i dunno who is cooking em anymore

It's not as good as it was.... front street bar and bistro ftw in the steak category.

jeffh 10-05-2008 09:08 PM

^ that sucks, our first year open was the most successful, then alot of us left for school/kelowna etc. its hard to find good help in penticton

we went for an EPIC 4wd trip on the chute lake road from kelowna to penticton today, got the jeep good and muddy, had to get towed out of my first mudhole on my first attempt by fourtire in his f150, but after that the heep was unstoppable. went and just climbed whatever i wanted, and me and waylon had to make our own trail back to the road at one point. pics will be up tomorrow...

RRxtar 10-05-2008 09:20 PM

sweet! where was my invite!

fourtirefire 10-05-2008 10:30 PM

Epic is right, that was a good trip down the KVR. Need to see the heep hit the 2nd mudhole next time!

Your invite is open for next adventure, as long as your heep is up to the challenge!

SmokeyTheBandit 10-06-2008 08:30 PM

so i took out a 2009 tacoma 4x4 for the weekend, and as i expected. i still love this truck and i am going to get one.

its funny, i walk into the place because i know they have there 2008 clearance on (just checking to see how good of a deal they are). anyways, the guy convinces me to take an 2009 home for the weekend. 4x4, quad cab with the tow package... exactly the one i want.

http://www.autospectator.com/cars/fi...comaACab17.jpg

all i gotta do is wait till next spring when i buy a bigger house with a double garage.

damn sweet truck.

underscore 10-06-2008 08:48 PM

^ that's what I want at some point too, only with the TRD package as well. And in white.
