Realistically you can walk from NY NY to Cesars in under half an hour.. doubt you save much time driving

To each their own I guess, but just curious have you actually made the trek along the strip when it was 42-43°C?
I was there when the 2015 June heat wave hit and it was hovering over 40+. I was melting even being outside for a couple minutes... I don't think I would survive a 20-30 walk... full blast A/C in the car was a life saver!

I'm on the "car is a waste of time/money" boat

When you're in Vegas, you're either gambling, partying, or eating. All 3 of which aren't necessarily the healthiest when you're there, so the walking and sweating helps burn off all of that :lol I also think that walking the strip is part of the fun of going to Vegas, otherwise you're just going to any other city's busy touristy street i.e. Robson, Kalakaua Avenue, etc.

Don't get me wrong I don't drive everywhere when there but if I can drive to and from airport, usually make one trip to old vegas that's $80 in cabs right there. Even if I use the car one or two more times during my trip it's more then worth it IMO.

did it in 32/35 and was pretty brutal but not unbearable, walked the whole strip a few times in those temps and i'm not one for heat. 40's is a different story though.

Same, and some of the "better" food places are all off the strip. Lotus of Siam is delicious and even a couple of random Korean BBQ joints were dirt cheap, ghetto but super yummy. If you plan to eat on the Strip it's either buffets or big money restaurants.

wtf

4 days vegas, nov 11 long weekend, 800bucks wtf. why is it so expensive.
i'm going to fly out of bellingham for 690 instead. am i just being cheap thinking it's still too expensive?

Bender Unit 06-11-2016 07:53 PM

November is SEMA
Spring & Fall are their best weather of the year.
Things a bit more expensive is normal.

Ch28 06-11-2016 08:20 PM

Sometimes you gotta plan your Vegas trip around the huge conventions. Conventions = expensive flights, hotels, and more restaurant waits.

At that price, I would just fly out of Vancouver, that's not enough of a savings for me to fly through Bellingham. Allegiant is shit.

And that is really expensive for Vegas.

He might be flying Alaska. The last few times I've been to Vegas, I've flown Alaska out of Bellingham, and it was great.

Like others have said, it's a long weekend, so the price is naturally going to be higher.

If you're really trying to save money when going to Vegas, avoid weekends altogether. Fri-Sat-Sun nights are always more expensive per night at hotels... but of course there's usually more going on there on weekends. Gotta pay to play. Vegas is not really a cheap holiday.
