You're going to Vegas to party, not a 30 day backpacking trip.

Allegiant charges for carry on?! Fuck that

They don't really "check" if you paid for carry on.

I'm headed down to Vegas as well, Dec 25-28 ... Only thing I have planned for is dinner at the wicked spoon, anyone else have any recommendations for any new places to eat ... staying at the Mandalay Bay, booked the rooms through my points from MyVegas facebook game ...

Godzira 12-08-2014 08:22 AM

Wicked Spoon is much more worth it for lunch. It's almost half the price, better food and free glass of champagne.
Switch your dinner buffet to Bacchanal @ Caesar's. You won't regret it.

I always hit up PRIME steak house at Bellagio everytime I go.

Then there's the late night drunken stops at Earl's and Carnegie.

Ch28 12-09-2014 11:06 PM

Don't forget to check out Estiatorio Milos inside the Cosmo. I highly recommend their 3 course lunch menu for $22.14. It's an absolutely fantastic meal

pfft I dunnow what they're talking about .. I'm 25 and had a blast on Fremont (maybe im considered old now) but any of the casinos in the old strip are fun to atleast play a few slots at.. we played $1 Blackjack all night at one.. I honestly can't remember which casino it was but as long as you play something they'll bring you free drinks and afterwards we went to Dupar's restaurant in the Golden gate hotel for pancakes and breakfast at 4am. (reallly good pancakes) even just to walk up and down is cool, the new strip has way more to do but Fremont is sweet to check out.

hchang 12-10-2014 02:45 PM

^ I thought all casinos brought you free drinks contingent you're playing something, no?

I'm going in Febuary staying at the Monte Carlo whoop whoop

I cannot WAIT to go back at the end of Jan!

I don't think my stomach, or liver, are ready to get abused again.

I love all the suggestions on places to eat. There are SO many places we want to try, it's hard to narrow down places to go.

Last time we were there, we went to Jean Georges steakhouse at Aria. It was pretty damn good... easily one of the best steaks of my life, but god damn that was pricey.

Any decent pasta places anyone was been to?

Girlfriend's wallet got stolen in marquee while we were on the dance floor. They unzipped my other friends' clutch as well but wasn't successful. I know a few of you here will be there soon so keep an eye out and keep valuables safe. I swear it was some Asian guy because he was in front of us the whole time then just dipped randomly shortly after we realized the wallet was stolen.

TOS'd 12-21-2014 04:09 PM

Had a close encounter at marquee as well. I foolishy put it back into my back pocket(had it in front the whole time) felt it missing and i felt it with my shoe on the floor. The guy behind me was trying to slip it away from me, so I stepped on it so it wasnt going anywhere, and grabbed him by the collar. Shoved him away and he ran.

Mr.Money 12-21-2014 04:51 PM

you should've stomped the guy enough for missing teeth....its fun.

Thank you for your suggestion for the Caesars Buffet it was incredible! My wife and I really enjoyed it!

Just to give you guys an idea what to expect.

Asian station: They got fresh BBQ pork and duck which is excellent and comparable to the BBQ master at Superstore in richmond. Theres a Congee station and some of your typical asian dishes (mongolian beef, sweet&sour pork etc.). There is also sushi but its pretty mediocore so don't stuff yourselves on that. Then they have a noodle station with ramen/pho which the soup base was surprisingly good! Its worth a try since they are just in a small bowl.

Italian station: You got your cold cuts and cheeses!! Yum! You got a pasta station and some already made pastas which were good. They had meatballs which were so good! I swear it was the best meatball I've had.

Mexican station: a bunch of salsas and sauces, a taco/burrito station, some Mexican food etc. Pretty good as well.

Carving Station: Roast beef with rib bones!! excellent as they actually SEASON the meat so it has flavour. I find a lot of buffet places the beef is always bland as fuck but this was not the case at Caesars. They also had a bunch of sausages, chicken&waffles, curly fries etc.

Seafood station: FRESH Oysters, crab claws, shrimp, ceviche, seafood chowders

Dessert Station: Ice cream/gelato, crepe station, cupcakes and a bunch of tarts and pastries!

I've been to buffets at Bellagio, Mirage, Treasure Island, Aria, MGM and this is definitely the tastiest one I've had. Mind you MGM, Treasure & Mirage was a few years ago so they might have changed.

My wife mentioned the buffet at Paris was really good as well last time she went which I'm not too surprised since Caesars and Paris are owned by the same company.

Verdasco 12-25-2014 09:42 AM

wicked spoon was such a sick buffet spot.... going there 7 days straight fucking suck though ! free food but w/e

milos in cosmopolitan was personally my favorite place to eat for seafood. blows any vancouver place out of the water imo.. it was unreal. Especially the cheap price

I was in Vegas earlier this month. The gf and I had dinner at the Wicked Spoon and we thought it was overpriced and disgusting. The crab legs seemed to draw most people in but they had very little meat and tasted off. I'm not sure why so many people rave about this place, we are never going back.

The second night we went to Mon Ami Gabi at Paris instead. Spent less than the previous night and had a much better meal.

On the last day we went to the breakfast buffet at the Bellagio and that was actually pretty good value for $20.

Godzira 12-28-2014 10:29 AM

off to Vegas today!!! :D
