vegas july 30 to aug 1 ... awesome

Heading to Vegas next week, gonna be a scorcher! Want to enjoy a really good steak and/or prime rib. Any recommendations?

Obsideon 07-07-2015 09:38 PM

Personal recommendation would be PRIME steakhouse inside the Bellagio. Been there twice and haven't been disappointed. Ask for the outdoor terrace seating to enjoy the fountain show.

Anyone use the royal offers lately? Planning another trip but don't have membership, or should I just stick to the promo codes at mycheapvegas.com?

Greenstoner 10-26-2015 02:21 PM

I get free room pretty much at every resorts. I dont have a favourite one and I like to pick a different hotel everytime i visit.
In my next visit, I am debating which one to pick from. THE LINQ, PARIS or Bally. I am leaning towards LINQ, but dont like the gaming floor there.

Who's going to EDC in June?

They don't check if you're a member.

I've used the Royal offer in the past and have never had any issues. Nor has anyone that I know that used it either.

If you're going the week of Xmas then you'll be paying $104 for 2 nights with $150 resort credit :lol

Frenchie 11-16-2015 10:58 PM

Has anybody tried using the Royal Offer at two different hotels (i.e. MGM Saturday/Sunday, then another hotel Monday/Tuesday) to double up on the resort credit?

Yeah, it works or if you don't want to change hotels, book 2 nights under your name and the next 2 under your SO's.

Any tips for finding the best price on flights in June?

Presto 11-24-2015 07:31 PM

Keep checking flights.google.com.

Seems like I can get the best price from 4-6 months from the travel date. The last 3 years, i've been able to book for less than $300/pp return. I scored my latest trip, which I'm currently on, for $190/pp return from YXX (Abby)

nabs 11-24-2015 08:50 PM

I got flights for EDC a couple years ago 250 bucks return from YVR also book your hotel ASAP and don't go for Mandalay Bay. It's far away from the fun. And get your bus passes as well. But a lot of the time you can just sneak on to the busses . They don't really check

NYNY is a pretty sweet place to stay. They keep on expanding, yearly. This year, they added the Shake Shack. I could eat their burgers all day long.

Meanwhile, MyVegas continues its march to mediocrity. Room offers are all but gone. However, if you're into shows, they still have a half-decent selection. My wife both have MV accounts, and we redeemed our points for Tournament of Kings, Beatles: Love, and Criss Angel.

ToK is entertaining. Jousting, sword fights, fireworks, and it includes a meal with no utensils: A whole, small chicken, potatoes, broccoli, biscuit, and tomato soup.

Beatles: Love is a Cirque Du Soleil production that features Beatles music. We've seen it twice, and it's awesome every time! If you like the Beatles, this show completely delivers

We're seeing that fraud, Criss Angel, tonight. It should be a good laugh!

Flying out of Abby is worth the price of admission for me and where I live, so much more convenient then flying out of Bellingham or Vancouver.

I'm going in the middle of January staying at Bally's, nothing fancy but good location.

Hondaracer 11-25-2015 07:43 PM

NYNY was great when we stayed there in April.

I don't think I'll fly out of Bellingham again though, dealing with the border, parking, etc is a joke

punkwax 11-25-2015 08:16 PM

NYNY is a cool spot for sure and I enjoyed my last stay there although the room was quite small. However, after my recent stay at the Palazzo, I think the extra money is worth it for a nice suite in an upper class facility.

Take that for what it's worth... in my younger days, TI was good enough because "you only really sleep in your room anyway" but now that I'm older, I will spend the money for a nicer place with a far more comfortable/mature atmosphere.

If NYNY is your price range, be sure to check out the Signature Towers at MGM. I got a roughly 800sqft 1 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite there once for less than what my buddies paid for regular MGM & NYNY rooms.

Also, if you found a cheap flight only, check Groupon for hotels. They seem to have discounted rates at Vegas hotels regularly.

as other have mention check google flights. Also Try to book the flight between Mon to Thurs and off high season.

Off topic but I just book my plane to Beijing for only $724. Leaving on Thurs Feb 11 and returning on Mon Feb 22. If I were to leave on Fri Feb 12 it would cost $898.

Presto 11-26-2015 12:57 AM

Don't see Criss Angel. That show fucking sucks. It's, basically, the same trick over and over again: He pulls a curtain over himself or someone else, and they disappear, or become him. I'm so glad we didn't pay to see him. All the filler actually kind of pissed me off.

We've had good luck with the $20 sandwich at NYNY. Including the current trip, we've successfully got a room upgrade each time. We book the basic Park Ave room, with 2 queens, and get it upgraded to the Madison Ave room, which is bigger, and has memory foam topped mattresses.

Lowered_Klass 11-26-2015 11:16 AM

I'm also headed back in Jan, but I'm flying out of Bellingham. We've flown out from there the last 2 trips there, and it was easy-peasy both times. Mind you, we fly out first thing in the morning on a Monday, so take that into consideration lol.

We're staying at the Flamingo this time around, as we're trying to cut costs a bit this trip. Got a decent deal on one of their 'GO' rooms, with a strip view.

Our last trip we stayed at the Bellagio. What a fantastic hotel. $20 sandwich trick worked great there too, scoring a high floor fountain view. I HIGHLY recommend the fountain view rooms. Like others have said, now that I'm older, a nicer room is much more important. I love coming back to the room to have a few drinks, enjoy the strip view, relax, before heading back out again.
