IMO, it's the best time to go in terms of weather...

Nice and hot during the day ( Vancouver Summer highs weather ).

Cool weather at night. Cool enough to wear a blazer for dressing up at night.

I've been a few times during the summer as well. Scorching hot during the days and night.

I have yet to visit Las Vegas either with the gf or with a bunch of my guy friends. I've been there only once, and that was with my parents...which wasn't as much fun compared to going with my friends! Plus my parents don't gamble...and they're mostly interested in sight-seeing (Grand Canyon, etc).

When's the low season for Las Vegas? Near christmas?

Usually Oct-Nov and Jan-Feb have the cheapest flights + hotel rates

I've never rented but what's the best place (or even cheaper) to rent a car on the strip for a day..

lolol not at Christmas for sure. That's when most parents take their kids on vacations. Go just the few weeks before Xmas (first week or 2 of Dec), and you should get some pretty good deals - as with 2010's Dec.

Keep in mind that a lot of shows are off during Nov-Jan because performers usually spend that time visiting family etc.

If seeing shows and performances is one of your top priorities then you better make sure you research to see when each specific show goes dark. If shows aren't a big deal then any time is usually a good time.

i dont know but to be honest, you wont be needing a car while on the strip

parking can be a pain and walking around on the strip is much better because you can see and check out all the little shops and chicks too

^ sounds like 411ken wants to rent a car (from the Strip) for a day...to visit other nearby attractions.

InvisibleSoul 03-10-2011 09:15 AM

I've been to Vegas three times, and rented a car for two of those trips... and I loved having the car. Parking is generally VERY convenient... free parking at all the hotels.

And when it costs a total of like $20 per day, totally worth it. Convenient to even travel between hotels on the strip, but also get the flexibility to go way off strip. We drove to the Primm Valley Outlets, and also to Red Rock, which is like 25 minutes off strip. They have an awesome buffet there.

Gambino 03-10-2011 09:51 AM

I'm going down apt 6 to the 9th. Staying at the bellagio. Only probably is my 19 with no fake I'd lol. Know anyone let me know

By taxi, Strip->

Premium outlets = $20 each way
Freemont = $11 each way
Rio = $10 each way

Of course you can shuttle to these places but then you're at the mercy of their schedule. Plus it totally wouldn't be worth it to cab to other sites off the strip. Rental cars are cheap, parking is plentiful and you can go when and where you want. What's $20/day when you're in Vegas anyways?

411ken 03-10-2011 02:09 PM

I've been to vegas many times but never rented from the strip...but from the airport only.. We are going Fri-Mon but planning on renting on a sunday so Airport is out of the question :P

Do all hotels offer rental cars? which one is the easiest to rent from (i.e. not too busy and quick)

Thanks.

So $20 a day (give or take) includes all those...taxes, insurance, and w/e crap load of fee's you usually encounter on a rental car?

French restaurant at Paris was pretty decent.. escargot was disgusting but the rib eye was one of the best I've had. Pricy but worth try

Any other wicked buffets out there? It'll be my first time going.

Plan on visiting the Pawn Stars shop, the place where Pac got shot and whatever else Vegas has to offer. Haha

Yep.

I think I paid a grand total of 97 USD for a five day rental... got a Ford Focus sedan.

Maybe it was four days... don't remember. Definitely less than $25 a day at any rate.

I'm wondering this as well.

Heavy_user 03-19-2011 10:56 AM

Does anyone know any good package receiving service providers in Las Vegas like the ones near the border?
Or has anyone had any experience with shipping the packages to hotels and have them receive the packages for you?

Anyone else planning to go coinciding with Electric Daisy Carnival?:fullofwin:
